Diversity has its own merits and demerits (Howard, 2010). The balance however leans on the merits side since a diverse college campus offers many viewpoints to the world, thus enabling the students to learn from peers with different perspectives acclimatized by their variety of experiences. Teachers must hold great cultural differences by allowing students from different cultures to act as an expert. I incorporate respect for different cultures by teaching my students about traditions, throwing in light on the history of countries and regions. My students feel valued and welcomed in some way especially when I share with them my cultural experiences. Before setting foot in a classroom I examine my teaching materials, ensuring equal enrichment of learning to students regardless of their culture. This helps in meeting their learning needs. Human beings are more likely to think and draw a stronger conclusion on an issue when talking to someone who is different from them (Phillip, 2014). Often, I challenge my student to consider different viewpoints because finally, this will force them into interacting with their peers on a social level and in the process arming them with professional skills they will use for the rest of their lives. Cultural diversity improves the academic outcomes of a given classroom. Most of the time, am usually more than willing to handle inequality cases in my classroom (Kelsey, 2015). This is part of my role as a teacher. Sometimes, I sanction them to talk about how issues of prejudice influence them at personal and classroom level.

With regard to ability and disability, I have ways to ensure that each student benefits. I give students will special needs an equal opportunity for success by breaking down instructions into smaller manageable tasks, maintaining an orderly classroom, and limiting distractions as much as possible; thus offering leadership opportunities, increasing the self-esteem of the individual student and offering peer support and mentoring (Kelsey, 2015). As with age, I aim at developing a multiage classroom in order to facilitate the overall development of a child within a family-like community. In any classroom, students will have different academic goals. As their teacher, I work so hard to ensure that these students are able to achieve their individual academic goals.

My students will be equipped with new skills and obtain knowledge in a homely classroom environment substantiated by a freedom of expression. I will infuse the love of learning by training them to be active, goal-oriented, and constructive learners.

My mission

I want to promote a learning environment that is energetic, dynamic, collaborative, and investigative. My methods will be result-oriented to help my students prosper with their life after college.

Conclusion

A teaching philosophy statement is very individualistic. They highlight an individual's values, personality, preferences, and most of the time depends on the kind of training that one went through as a teacher.
