Empowerment involves set strategies established and formulated to contribute to self-reliance, self-control, and self-determination among different backgrounds, including people living in diverse communities to make them be in control situations of their way. Based on my judgment, empowerment involves a case in which one party established policies or rather formulations that will make one or more parties survive adverse prevailing conditions in a particular period (Hanaysha, 2016). Empowerment also entails what happens when employees are treated well in organizations by managers say when they get high pay in line with general performance.
The human resource manager enhances the general performance of the organization. In any time of eruptions of poor performance, they are always responsible for the fall. They establish goals and strategies for the attainment of set objectives by shareholders. For excellent general performance in an organization, employees should adhere according to the will of their boss, and human resource manager for success (Elnaga, & Imran, 2014).
Advantages of Empowering Employees
Improves Customer Service, Accountability, and Transparency
When employees are given the mandate of making decisions, they gain the trust of their employers. When given tasks to perform, they will be accountable, and that gives them the power to trust themselves.
Higher Quality in Service Customer
When employees are given the power to make deals at some products like subjecting discounts to customers, it will help build a transparent base of customer service (Elnaga, & Imran, (2014). That will make them deliver high-quality products to customers due to the convincing nature of the power vested in them
Faster Problem Resolution
Empowering employees help in the provision of faster problem resolutions since when a problem occurs, steps for resolving the issues will not go through a chain of command because employees themselves can solve the matters that occurred.
Improved Procedures and Processes
Empowered employees make programs run smoothly. They will allow adjustments on some things in a better way that is favorable to the system since employees know managers usually cope with new ideas for the betterment of organizations
Disadvantages of Empowering Employees
Increase in the Cost of Training
Empowering employees means they need to undergo training exercises before to gain some knowledge such as leadership skills to rely on them during routine operations in an organization and that tends to be costly
Poor Understanding and Knowledge
Initial training for employees may not be enough for them to involve themselves in faster decisions making because when constraints arise in an organization resolution should arise faster for normal operations
Risk of security and confidentiality
Now that the employees have some powers to run some parts of the organization, they are given some information regarding the organization which are confidential, and hence they end up exposing to the public
Conclusion
In summary, every human resource manager in every organization should treat all employees well despite their age, gender, and race for overall performance in an organization towards attaining set targets and objectives, and also employees should not be empowered much such that they end up abusing power.
