Technological issues top the modern workplace challenges since technology is always advancing, and the workers have to catch up with it. In the modern technological globe, it is important that employees know how to use technology to help their companies to grow. In modern business space, computer skills have become very significant (Green, 2018). Companies are constantly coming up with novel software and tools, and the workers have to keep retraining for the same. The process of retraining employees to adapt to the new software is draining for both the workers and the employers, yet they have no option but to abide. Additionally, employees have to consider what they upload on their social media handles since companies keep trailing them. Employees have to realize that they represent the company. Nowadays it is normal to hear of people who have been laid off from their jobs for uploading contents that violate the company values on Facebook.

Ethical issues are yet again major contemporary workplace challenges. To keep a good reputation, the company has to enact as well as maintain excellent ethics. To achieve this, the company has to set a good organizational culture that holds the workers to particular standards that fosters a healthy workplace. An organization may hold its workers to high moral standards within the society and assist in empowering the community (Eunson, 2012). A production company must ensure that it does not harm the environment through its production activities. A company whose manufacturing processes harms the environment must regulate and monitor their pollution (Green, 2018). If the company has a poor organizational culture, it is hard to correct this culture with time. Such can cultivate bigger problems with employees and even customers. To prevent these problems from bulging, the company must hold its workers to certain standards, and ensure that it promotes good working relations.

Among the recommendations on how companies can evade the contemporary workplace challenges include worker involvement. Involving employees in decision making through the communication system that the company adopts is important. The communication channels at the company should be made such that they relate directly to decision making. Direct communication includes open meetings and improved contribution of team members and committees (Green, 2015). Direct communication permits workers to properly comprehend the norms and protocols that foster efficient worker involvement and healthy workplace culture. Indirect communication involves the establishment of associations and committees that elevate worker engagement at the company. The management should ensure that it responds timely to the concerns of the workers and that it uses the methods suggested by the workers intending to these concerns (Australian Government, 2018). Worker involvement requires companies to embrace worker participation in the decision-making process of the company to nurture transparency and high integrity. Involving workers in decision-making improves their efficiency and effectiveness (Green, 2018). The involvement of employees in decision making enables them to totally comprehend what the organization and society expect of them, which makes them correct or evade workplace challenges.
