Entropy and equilibrium are the two most persistent yet opposing concepts of the universe, which filter through all the elements of the earth. Entropy tends to induce randomness between the high and low energy levels, while equilibrium tends to equate all the levels of energy. These two phenomena mostly manifest themselves in terms of Global Trade, the most prevalent economic practice in the entire world. Pro-globalization and anti-globalization have distinct similarities to these two concepts; the former has a resemblance to equilibrium, which focuses on creating an even and level playing ground for global trade to take place. The latter has an affinity to entropy, which mainly involves looking out for the strengths and potential of the states. It is imperative to pay attention to each of these concepts when studying global trade.
The pro-globalist approach dictates explicitly that the flow should be directed from the high levels to the low levels; this would apply to the resources, knowledge, and energy most importantly (Deshtek, 2019). For instance, during the outsourcing of power or any other resource, including human or capital, the natural flow would be from the areas where the power is readily available to the areas where it is scarce in supply. This exchange would, therefore, take place across various regions, and it is assumed that the resources will be equal. Notably, ambition keeps the post-globalist forces alive. These two concepts intertwine and interplay, and one cannot be comprehensively covered without mentioning the other.
In the developed countries, the pro-globalists consider free global trade to be beneficial to both the developed and the developing countries. They argue that energy, capital, and knowledge could flow from the developed countries to the developing. Human and other natural resources could flow from the developing nations to the developed ones. Nonetheless, there may be an exemption with energy as some developing countries have recently discovered oil and gas on their lands for example Nigeria. As mentioned earlier, this equilibrium approach optimizes resource allocation and is crucial for the whole global trade process to work efficiently.
There is a popular notion from anti-globalists in developing nations that developed countries have a hidden agenda of having control over the world and the global economy, and they use globalization to cover it (Kong, 2019). The pro-globalists, on the other hand, argue that it helps to eradicate poverty and improve the living standards of the entire population in developing nations. Industries in such countries can function effectively when they have an adequate supply of not only energy but also all the other resources that are involved in the production process. Moreover, such industries require human resources to function, and this leads to employment resulting in better standards of living. The anti-globalists in the developed countries are concerned about the overall job cuts, as well as the wealth focus on a few.
Conclusion
In conclusion, many other issues have been raised on the same, and there is a new wave of protectionism that results from the fear of globalization, for example, Brexit. It is essential to use the vast knowledge and capital in the developed countries to progress the developing countries further to eradicate the anti-globalist beliefs.
