Introduction

I attended the Maximus Masicus Visit to the Orchestra event. To document my opinions and thoughts on each piece performed, I will be listing the pieces below, followed by reactions on various aspects. First, it is significant to grasp the performers' composition to understand the quality of the event. This orchestra is a standardized one consisting of cello, violin, and standing bass alongside a nicely sized brass section. The orchestra significantly contains an extensive percussion section whereby my reflection is the group's capability to apprehend the desired effect of the measures they chose to achieve. Significantly, it is interesting to acknowledge that this Orchestra entails members solely involved in love for music. Personally, this is my first time watching a musical as I can truly express that it was not a bad experience. The concert hall was smaller and felt more personal as the seats were so close to the stage.

Name of the Event

The Maximus Musicus Visits the Orchestra music concert is one of the remarkable and charming events in my life. The event is an early introduction to the Orchestra, just like the way Maximus the mouse did. The event is normally scheduled in the evening hours with the active orchestra atmosphere going through the night. The welcoming staff set the event ablaze. Adults in the audience seemed to have a good time as they portrayed some musical movements alongside their children.

Date of Performance

The concert was held on 3 June 2018 at the Malaysian philharmonic orchestra (Liu et al. 50-59). Teenagers' performance by acting out their story, which made it seem genuine and personalized, makes the music very outstanding. The conductor was led by Gene Chang, while the storyline was narrated by Datuk Yasmin, who did a successful task by narrating the story for Maximus, the mouse.

The event starts with a cold winter night, and Maximus Misicus is looking for a warm place to spend the entire night. The mouse ends up sleeping inside a building, not knowing that he was about to stumble. The peaceful sleep was interrupted by a loud noise afterward. The mouse would soon find out that the loud noise was the sound of the musical instruments. Maxi adventures commence as he discovers the diverse instruments being performed as the orchestra was busy practicing for their performance. The lead flutist in the Iceland Symphony Orchestra is Hallfridur Olafsdottir (Liu et al. 50-59). Maxi discusses the wonderful variety of instruments and the remarkable sounds that they make. Maxi really loves to linger in the concert hall so that he knows what's happening the next day.

Why the Music Appealed to Many People

The narrator surprised the audience as he is so talented and brought the bridge of age to the general audience. The bridge between what people perceived was fused by the knowledge that the young generation is training and becoming very equipped to take over the reins in the next future. Moreover, it is significant to demonstrate that the Orchestra is not just for children but can also be performed and enjoyed by individuals of any age.

Purpose of the Event

In the event, the mouse Maxims Musicus was looking for a serene place to sleep. However, Maxi's place brought a swift end while the mouse boy has landed in a concert hall the next morning, and now experiences encounter the lifetime adventure. Maxi acknowledges the instruments of the orchestra and n listens to the rehearsals and concert that includes Beethoven and Ravel's works. When Maxi's song is played, Maxi dances enthusiastically alongside the children in the audience. The story was also ideal for educating and providing the world of concert music, musicians, and instruments to their children with excellent bedtime stories. The songs and brief orchestras of Maxi are chosen to encourage young hearers and delight them. The story is also interwoven with every form of music and sound which accompanies the story, and the musicians finally warm up, tuned, replayed, and played the concerts.

Genre

Regarding the genre, the symphony is utilized as a long-form of the composition of a musical for orchestra, which normally consists of numerous large sections or movements, at least one of which incorporates the first movement form. The aspect of symphonies and orchestras makes composers tune towards techniques to attain dynamic coherence. A solo piece's aspect gives a descriptive composition whereby the player delights in depicting such realistic sounds.

All Potential Countries

The Maximus Masicus is the most popular rodent in the history of Iceland that has been very delighting children as well as their parents in his native as well as in nations such as Korea, Germany, New Zealand, Australia, Netherlands, and the Faroe Islands since 2018. The event narrates the mouse Maximus Masicus, who finds himself in a concert hall by mistake. Maxi enjoys himself much that he decides to stay in the concert hall and see what will happen the next day. By so doing this, he experiences numerous funny events and strange events as well as some moving and wonderful sounds as the orchestral musicians’ warm-up, rehearses, tunes their instruments, and plays the pieces in the concert finally. The event is narrated with endearing and harmonious images; likewise, the audio entails carefully chosen music to fit the young children. The Iceland symphony orchestra performs the event under the conduction of Viadimir Ashkenazy (Bamford 60-63).

The Environment of the Event

The event is an early introduction to the Orchestra, just like the way Maximus the mouse did. Even as the event is normally scheduled in the evening hours with the active orchestra atmosphere going through the night, the welcoming staff set the event ablaze. Adults in the audience seemed to have a good time as they portrayed some movements’ musical alongside their children.

Instruments Performed

Regarding instrumentation, the orchestra symphony in the event contains four groups of musical instruments, which are called the brass, woodwinds, strings, and percussion. Moreover, the conductor directs the orchestra by guiding the performance by movements of arms and hands, making it very easy for the performers to see by using a conductor baton. The conductor also consolidates the orchestra by establishing the tempo and equally expressing the tone of the ensemble. The conductor contributed to unifying the orchestra by performing prayers before the public performance, which advised the musicians to understand the conductor's music.

Culture

I had been to the orchestra with my family on several occasions as a child; however, we stopped going after a while. Besides, I even forgot as to the reason why I stopped going. I was surprised when I found myself in the concert hall after years later. Culture comes to the context where everyone was in their best suits as they dressed in smart casual outfits, something that is not too casual and not too formal. The dressing code was stringent as it stressed shots, collarless t-shirts, slippers, sneakers, and singlets (Bamford 60-63). School uniforms are, however, allowed for students. Generally, the performers look good in their attire basing on their black color theme that seemed simply dashing. Even as the concert started, the chit chat died down as everyone was respectful to the musician during their performance. People understood that this was a primary etiquette not to converse as the concert is ongoing to not distract other people from watching the event and the performance on stage.

Roots of the Music

The musical is haunting and disturbing as it touches on suicide and depression. In my own understanding, people who undergo depression require an outlet for them to demonstrate themselves. As such, art is one of the platforms these individuals can utilize. Maximus, the mouse, can captivate and engage mostly youths with fun expressions. This concert's setting was a broad auditorium; however, it did not possess a similar professional feeling as that of a large chamber of the orchestra. The place had one exit where individuals came and moved through one direction, bringing to an organized fashion as opposed to other music concerts that I have attended in the past where people did not follow protocols, and equally, there was no organization. The blend of natural foods enhanced the fashionable attires and atmosphere that made the even to be outstanding as no one would opt to forget such a remarkable day.

The event is modernized as it entails the classical genre and plays a significant role in the family. The Icelandic Symphony Orchestra members translate and explain this case, which also teaches readers about the sounds of music and the classical instrument. There seem strange happenings such as the sounds of plink plink of the harp and grurrr grurrr of the double grass; however, great care has been approached to demystify the content both on text and illustrations (Davronov 706-709). The story also ends with a galloping rendition of the folk song a sprengisandi, which is the favorite encore of the Icelandic symphony orchestra.

The Connection

There is a connection between music and culture in some ways, such as language, as lyrics reflect the group’s language. The musical term largo brings to the need for diversity in the style of music even though many prefer pieces with a fast tempo and more traditional high effects of energy. Most individuals associate with classical music and orchestra as it plays on the traditional sound structure of orchestra compositions that highlight a string with additional energy (Bamford 60-63). For instance, the piano's accomplishment seems beautiful even though, at times, it is tough to express the musical feelings in a descriptive form of writing. Music activates people's expectations, for instance, that the Orchestra is not designed only for children, but also helps old people. Moreover, it offers a bridge between traditional music players and the skills that young children are educating and composing in the near future.

Conclusion

In summary, the event is a valuable, light-hearted, and informative introduction to orchestral music and instruments accessible to both musicians and non-musicians. The music reveals a tale-telling splendid passage of classical music by the Symphony Orchestra of Iceland.
