The work of these writers provides a compelling case for viewing the years between 1877 and 1919 and regards it as a time where there was outstanding literacy as well as the cultural achievement for the African Americans men and women. Give a critique of the work's importance to understanding the overall theme you have selected:

Inequality is an important aspect in the United States. For many years, the African Americans have been treated differently from the majority and this has led to limitations in thr form of services that they access. For instance, there were instances from the past where the African Americans were allowed to attend different schools from the majority, and the recent cases of discrimination in healthcare. This is the situation where the majority are provided with different services compared to the miniority and this has also reflected to the economic and social differences. In the book, the authors have discussed and analyzed the issues of equality in the United States, and this is one of the important things. Equality has been an issue in the United States that has made the African Americans feell like they are not part of the society. As much as the bok is about the neglected era, inequality has never ended and it is an issue in the current society. Understaning the importance to have a equal society is important as it helps one to appreciate the efforts of others within the society. At the same time, understandng equality and the role of the African Ameicans within the society is important when it comes to allocation of roles within the races. Through the book, it is easy to understand that the African Americans were once neglected and they still feel neglected in the current society. This is the reason the authors have compiled different elements and information to ensure that the theme of equality is addressed. At the same time, inequality is just an aspect that was created long time and it has remained as a norm among the Ameicans people but through the emphasies, the issue of equality may be attained fully. Throughout the book, the authors understand equality and this is the reason they have discussed the concept by the use of examples of events that occurred over the years to discuss the issue. For instance, the years discussed in the book are regarded as the most efficient as they marked the change in African American production, which also addressed the issue of slavery. Slavery is a form of inequality that only focused on the miniority considering the fact that they did not have the say in the society, and through slavery, the majority took advantage over the blacks. The application of the concepts is a clear indication that the authors were aware and fully prepared to address the theme.
