Introduction
Supply chain management can be described as a collection of activities that entail executing and planning. The supply chain mainly aims at the effective sourcing of raw materials, refining the raw products into final products, and transposing the final product to the consumers (Christopher and Martin np). Recently, some of the supply chain activities, like the trans positioning of the products to the consumer, are being outsourced from other firms. The ultimate aim of a supply chain is to enhance cooperation and capable of the transfer of goods to the end-user. This document critically analyzes a specific supply chain and the various merits, demerits, and challenges associated with it and the many restrictions involved in the process in a grocery store business.
Factors to Consider
Several factors should always be put into consideration before marketing any product like the grocery. The first factor to consider is the pricing of groceries. Pricing is a significant factor that is also influenced by the cost of production, profit, and the value of the groceries. Another factor is the market's location or the grocery (Christopher and Martin np). The appropriate situation of the grocery stores or distribution outlets should also be a very significant factor. Even considering the product's target consumers to be marketed is crucial to avoid selling the groceries to inappropriate consumers. In the process of identifying the relevant marketing audience, it is also essential to add value to the product by, for example, adding some incentives to the product to entice the consumers, for instance, in the grocery store.
Marketing Process
A marketing process also comprises the of involving mostly human interaction between the staff and the potential customers to ensure success in marketing the groceries (Homburg et al.,378). Another factor like to consider is promoting the groceries to the market to create the publicity of the product and to increase its popularity in the consumer. Promotion as marketing strategies involves different strategies that can be utilized depending on the applicability of the method. Some challenges may also be encountered in a supply chain include a complex supply chain due to several channels to the market, the risks involved in the supply chain, and the varied consumer demands.
There are various suppliers in a supply chain, including manufacturers and vendors, wholesalers and distributors, and affiliate merchants. The most effective supplier is wholesalers and distributors. Also, in the supply chain, their various factors that directly impact the chain. They include politics and social trends. Politics may directly impact the supply chain, where it may influence where to strategize and position the chain (Boddewyn and Jean 90). Another factor is social factors, which describe how people live in a potential location of the string.
Conclusion
In the social aspect’s products should be branded in such a manner that the community understands and are familiar with the product in an attempt of supplying coffee there are child labor issues involved in the supply chain where children were also involved in some promotions and carrying the goods from one place to another. In the coffee supply also, there were import restrictions and the taxations imposed on all imported products.
