For millennia, Atheists have put across a belief that God does not exist. They have spun multiple theories and mechanical syntheses to back their position. Reasons such as delayed answering of prayers, world suffering, hunger, and death have made atheists claim that there is no God. These days, the discussion about God is getting more intense, given the advent of technology, advanced medical machinery, war, and fashion evolution. However, religion should be understood as a practical field that exposes us to new ideas, realities, and understandings. This paper makes a case for God.
As we explore our souls and hearts' full abilities through religion, we get a proper insight into who God is and more proof of His existence. The exploration exposes how primitive and underdeveloped we are even in the face of advanced scientific and technological know-how. Through the ages, the writings in the Bible have been translated into moral and ethical behavior which gives us a better world. The most practical machine for making a case for God is our faith (Adler & Dzugan, 2011). Faith teaches us that God reveals himself to us and that His existence in our lives is important.
As human beings, we should not struggle to find God (to prove that he exists), but we should allow God to find us through revelations and encounters. There exist numerous pieces of evidence to prove the existence of God. The first is on the origin of the universe. Everyone knows that the universe began to exist (Thompson, 2012). Since anything that starts to exist has a cause, the universe, thus, has a cause. The cause of a universe must be immaterial, everlasting, not personal, and not bound by time. There are the characteristics of God.
Further, the expansive and complex design of the universe is the product of perfect design. Star patterns, oceans, mountains, and rivers are so perfectly placed that it only points to a very intelligent designer's work. Like modern products such as attractive cars and buildings, the universe must have had a maker, who must have been super-intelligent, creative, and powerful. These are the attributes of God. Additionally, humans have basic laws of logic that are divine (Adler & Dzugan, 2011). These laws preceded humans and must have thus been crafted by God.
There also exist logical patterns and objective, transcendent, conceptual behaviors among other animal species. Chicken and dogs tend for their young ones, and crocodiles tend for their eggs. A powerful, knowledgeable natural force must have set such order and organized impulsive biological actions, and that is God. So far, science has shown that Earth is the only planet that can comfortably support life (Thompson, 2012). The choice to equip the earth with the requisite resources to support life could not be coincidental but point to a wise maker, who is God.
As scientists continue to discover life, they increasingly see how much precision is required to set up the universe and allow life on Earth. Currently, there exist hundreds of parameters that must be met for a planet to support life. For example, the ratio of nuclear forces, electromagnetic forces, and gravity must be maintained constant for the universe to continue existing (Adler & Dzugan, 2011). Any slight variance in the ratios, however minute, will make life on Earth completely impossible. So far, all the other planets fall short of many parameters leaving Earth as the only supporter of life.
Believing that such precision and distinct accuracy were a result of random coincidence is basically primitive. In the Christian faith, these creations must have been the work of a supernatural being; God. Also, most believers in no God cannot explain how atoms and molecules could create a human conscience- something with no physical existence. How our minds govern our experiences and decisions remains largely ununderstood.
Further, the natural world before technology always followed the laws of physics and mathematics. When he lacked a logical explanation for gravity, the 17th Century mathematician, Isaac Newton, said, "It is the will of God." (Thompson, 2012).
The biological processes in living things work in such harmonious synchrony and hierarchy that it seem guided by the organs and cells' intentional actions. These behaviors are transmitted across all generations. This pattern of operation and the natural transmission of the characteristics to offspring point to a master plan drawn by a mighty force (God).
Human beings have always made inventions to make the world better. From the 17th century, scientific discoveries heaped on (Adler & Dzugan, 2011). The dramatic revolution of human thought is completely in line with the assertion in the Bible that human beings were made in the image of God.
Conclusion
In general, the argument on God's existence may continue, but logical or mechanistic reasoning both point to a creator of everything. Human interventions and know-how have helped prolong life, make it easier and more convenient, and even transplant organs. But no one has ever managed to make a working cell even using the atoms they claim caused life (Adler & Dzugan, 2011). Yes, there is world suffering, death, and hunger, but God gave us an environment to thrive and survive, and since every life has a beginning, it must have an end.
