Communication and training are two of the most paramount issues that organizations advocate for in their operations. In all the leading economies and industries in the universe, the most valuable aspects that are sought for among managers and employees is their ability to communicate well among the other stuff. Communicational channels provide the guidelines through which instructions can be communicated and delivered from one area of the workplace to another. The risks of poor communication and lack of training have been a primary concern among business individuals, and this needs to be mitigated if any business needs to excel in achieving their set objectives. Poor results due to lack of training come in because the market economy is a competitive environment which demands that personnel be trained appropriately in the current modes of business operation.
It is a strategic requirement that business managers seek to employ personnel who have excellent communication skills and who are adequately trained. These are elements which if met, an organization can thus achieve a great length in their objectives and an edge over their competitors in the market economy. The essay will, therefore, look into the various risks presented by lack of training and proper training a look into the different strategies which can be used to mitigate the risks (Lundgren, R. E., & McMakin, A. H. 2018).
Risks of lack of communication
The significant risk of lack of communication is poor customer service. Lack of proper communication disrupts the productivity of the team and the employees in the organization. When there is poor communication, customers will complain, and this might cost the organization their esteemed clients who might lead to lower profit margins.
Lack of communication might also result in employee turnover. When, for instance, the managers do not engage their subordinates with respect, some of the employees might feel out of place and quit their position. It leads to uncertainties and doubt, which might hamper productivity. Lack of communication creates an unfavorable environment for employees to feel well invested and not proud f what they do (Marshall et al., 2015)
Lack of communication can be mitigated through the following strategies;
The best approach is through training. Not everyone in the organization will have the required communication skills. It is, therefore, essential to mitigate the risks through formal training and practice. It can also apply to those who have excellent communication skills for improvement and to advance. Communication skills can bean acquired assets through training and practice. Employees can go for seminars and workshops to allow them to gain the required skills for communication in the business environment.
The other strategy is through implementing an open-door system which allows for any individual in the organization to presents any piece of information to the available offices. It is essential to create an environment for easy access to offices in a manner that a subordinate officer will not have a fear of going to a manager over an issue in the organization. These are the strategies that if employed by organizations, then the risk of lack of communication can be mitigated.
Risks of lack of training
The primary threat to a lack of training is an unsafe work environment. Health administration agencies state that lack of exercise leads to unwanted injuries. It mostly occurs when the employees have not the required skills and knowledge needed in their respective expertise. Having not the required trai8ningcan be fatal in an organization because of the heavy machinery that some industries operate with. Safety procedures and protocols are not enough to warrant a safe work environment; training should be a central concern for all the workers because it is only through proper preparation that the risks associated with lack for training can be mitigated.
The other significant risk due to lack of training is an increase in compensation, which comes as a result of covering medical costs if accidents happen and workers get injured in the workplace. This compensation happens because of injuries from unskilled practice by workers in the organization. The organization can also incur expenses through legal fees, mainly when adverse effects such as deaths occur, and they are sued for not properly training their employees.
The strategies that can be used to mitigate the risks of lack of training include the following;
- The first approach to employ for mitigating the risks associated with a lack of training is debriefing very set up of a project to allow for proper reviews, which will help reduce risks in operation. Debriefing of projects and initiatives helps in the improvement of safety measures through training and keeping a proper follow up of plans to prevent any accidents from happening (Kanki, B. G. 2019).
- The other strategy is through training and taking employees for conferences where they can be taught on proper training and better measures to mitigate any form of injuries and accidents in the organization. It is through these conferences and benchmarking that employees get to acquire the required training skills and tools to help mitigate the risks associated with a lack of training in an organization setting. Lack of exercise is a very high risk for any organization to take, and it is, therefore, necessary that business people try hard to find strategies and ways to help avoid such risks as mentioned above.
