Introduction
Concerning the presented case, the study must be done based on the manufacturing process and control parameters. Meanwhile, it is difficult to smoothly conduct the study because there is some part of the crucial information that is missing. For this reason, I would perform the study in two different parts. First, I would analyze the present data information. Secondly, I would utilize a focus group approach to analyze the missing piece of information about production supervisors. Based on the findings from these two studies, corrective measures and recommendations would be drawn by the analysts and decision-makers.
Data Analysis
Cooper et al. (2003) outlined that “Data analysis usually involves reducing accumulated to a manageable size, developing summaries, looking for patterns, and applying statistical techniques.” This context denotes that designing experiments by using raw data is cumbersome; hence they need to be reduced into small categories which can be understood better. Cooper et al. (2003) stated that raw data could also be referred to as primary data because they usually consist of direct measurements gathered during the study. For this reason, I would classify the data into graphs, charts, and table using temperature, humidity, and expert level as the key characteristics in showing the number of defective glass shells.
Although it might be difficult to have all the necessary data required while making the graphs, charts, and tables, I am confident that most defects often take place in cases where temperature and humidity are both not controlled. Dambon et al. (2009) asserted that “The main reason for shrinkage is the different thermal expansions of mold and glass materials during forming and cooling, many other factors such as uneven cooling speed and stress relaxation affect molding process and thus lead to complex form deviation in final geometry.” Using this argument, it is visible that temperature and humidity are vital variables. Therefore, I would conclude that the manufacturing processing environment would be uncontrolled. Having said, it should be assumed that the surrounding climate must not be controlled.
Focus Groups
After completing the data analysis, final graphs, charts, and tables should be produced and presented to a qualified team of consultants, supervisors, and well-trained moderators to regulate the number of initially observed defects. Cooper et al. (2003) found that focus groups usually consist of qualified personnel who works with the machinery as moderators. As a result, it is imperative to bring together employees and experts to work in the focus groups, to allow for brainstorming of idea concerning the defects depicted by the primary data (Bellack & O’Neil, 2013). A well-working focus group that contain employees will be able to provide insights and accurate corrective strategies and adjustive criteria that incorporate the effect of production.
In summary, using the two separate parts for designing the experiment will not only be useful in gathering the primary data for use in the analysis. Still, it will also help to include staff members or supervisors, whose role will be to moderate and make any possible adjustments in the primary data to accommodate all factors in the determination of the number of defects.
On a biblical standpoint, it could be difficult to make decisions even while handling business, due to the fear of making wrong decisions. Perhaps, the business would produce defective materials after controlling the climate; meanwhile, when they failed to control the climate, the business still loses profits after its sales of the defective glasses. Instinctively, Proverbs 16: 1-5 states that “The plans of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the Lord. All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, but the Lord weighs the spirit. Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established. The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble. Everyone who is arrogant in heart is an abomination to the Lord; be assured, he will not go unpunished” (ESV). Accordingly, the verse attempts to explain that, although human beings may engage in different activities, it is God who is the supreme of making the final decisions. In other words, Gods work by breathing life into us, to allow us to think differently in the line of making better outcomes or choices.
In Psalm 27:14, it quotes, “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! This shows that, regardless of the efforts by human beings in choosing between options, God is the supreme, and can strengthen us, with knowledge and skills of making more informed decisions, such as for the design experiments in this study.
