Vehicle accidents are the leading causes of injury-related fatalities, which create a severe threat to driving safety. Accident liabilities are determined by drivers' personalities, which is a useful predictor of risky driving behavior. The current society stresses the impacts of drivers and drunk driving on the level of punishment, which is essential. Different consequences are caused by drunk driving, which not only brings effects to the driver but also to society. However, any punishment done to a driver revolves around the amount of damage that has been caused; considering the law, great offenses receive the most significant penalties while simple violations receive only fines (Rezapur-Shahkolai et al., 2020). Notably, there are effects of the driver's personality, and behavior on the level of punishment received.
Driving skills is the main factor that influences the driving behaviorsof drivers. A driver needs to have driving skills to control a vehicle safely in a road environment (Guo et al., 2016). However, high levels of driving skills are beneficial to the drivers' ability since it helps them identify and react to dangerous objects and different events in the environment of traffic. The skills also evaluate information input around the vehicle and help them make their driving consistent with safe driving goals. Additionally, driving skills have got an essential effect on risky driving behavior that can be predicted (Zhang et al., 2019). According to researchers, most drivers cause accidents due to ignorance of the necessary driving skills.
Following the first research conducted, humans represent the crucial factor of all factors that lead to traffic accidents. A more significant percentage of accidents caused are due to human involvement, and a part of the percentages represents the motor drivers (Freuli et al., 2020).For a long time, traffic drivers are involved in traffic accidents due to exposure to traffic conditions.According to the findings done from the 188 participants, remorse and account influenced their perception of the participants in the film. However, the defendants who were found to be remorseful were considered guilty. Additionally, defendants who had justified themselves faced a lenient punishment.
According to the second study on personality, justice judgment was investigated whether it was conducted on a fair basis or it was done considering the status of a person or the social categorization. It is predicted that participants who display a punitive justice judgment to the in-group than the out-group offenders; then, the in-groups have high status compared to the out-groups. However, it is evident that when the in-groupshave a low level, then the out-group receives a considerable punishment.Data obtained from both statistics were registered into a computer, and the participants were issued with questionnaires with manipulation for the second experiment. The main idea was to confront the participant with an offense that was committed by an in-group and out-group. The participants respondedpunitively towards the in-group and out-group offenders; moreover, the low the in-group's status, the less the reaction to in-group and out-group offenders (Atombo et al., 2017).
The hypothesized research reflected that tears had a significant impact on reducing the offender's judgment. This is because tears are emotional, reliable, and remorseful, which is evident in pictures with tears than the ones without tears. Notably, many issues are related to increased punishment of drunk drivers, which is evident after breathalyzer testing in the research. Following the hypothesis, any individual with over 0.08%of the DUI can be convicted of a crime. Moreover, sanction changes and punishments towards individuals in the experiment conducted related to drunk driving is evidence of reduced drinking while driving (Al-Tit, 2020).After all, data was collected through different methodologies and materials through the right procedure; a two-way ANOVA analysis was done to study the perception of the level of different personalities and behaviors that could affect the years of imprisonment that individuals deserve.
Conclusively, the reduction of illegal driving is the primary way of reducing involvement in tragic accidents. Notably, drivers' education should be done regularly, and their misperceptions of regulations should be corrected immediately to increase their awareness of accident risks. Several education resources on road safety should be provided to all employees and main drivers in any organization. Drivers with illegal driving behaviors should be warned and offered a combination of education resources. Records for the careless drivers should be kept and directed to focus on the management and the relevant training provided. Before any departure of the drivers, a safety order system should be maintained, and information on the safe drive should be conducted by the safety management personnel. In order to create awareness of accidents, different means have to be used, such as broadcasting all traffic accident videos and giving an analysis of the causes of traffic accidents. The awareness will help in improving the quality of safety education. The negative incentives that are associated with punishment should be changed to positive incentives that should be based on offering regular rewards to the outstanding drivers and issuing mental and material rewards to them. This effort will help in reducing violation occurrences and reduces the number of traffic accidents.
