Telemachus, son of Odysseus who was a hero in the island of Ithaca and was away from the palace for several years, began a journey to bring his father home. Telemachus used to live among suitors who endanger the possibility of rising to power and eventually bringing his father back home. The suitors kept on threatening his mother and posed a lot of threat in the restoration of the household and the kingdom. In the beginning, Telemachus was young and inexperienced and the mission of helping his father back home and protecting the kingdoms seemed far away from his shoulders. He behaved childish and saw some of the suitors as role models, yet they were the ones who threatened the unity of his household. He believed in the supernatural power and onetime Athena, the goddess comes and inspired him to act like a man and follow the footsteps of his father. In this essay, a discussion of the rise of Telemachus from a child to become worth become entitle prince is evaluated. It is expected a son should emulate the footsteps the father and hence a prince should have authority and command as the king and, hence the evaluation of the rise of Telemachus.
In finding out how Telemachus rose to earn the title Prince, the discussion will look into how he matured from a child to man. How he managed to overcome the suitors and embark on his mission to find the whereabouts of his father, and how he fought in protection of the kingship. The discussion will also look into the pride of Odysseus when he discovered what Telemachus had done for Ithaca and his role in his homecoming. In support of the review, I will also look into how Telemachus helped his father in fighting the suitors and restoring the kingdom.
