For many years, people have increasingly been troubled by the dogma of Hell. Throughout the world, it is presumed that the majority of the human population will go to hell other than heaven. Many questions linger in the minds of people as to whether hell is real or not. Others question themselves as to whether God will let the humans burn in hell yet it is pronounced that he is loving and caring. The essay, therefore, seeks to elaborate as to whether God can send persons to Hell.
From the Bible, it is said that Hell was created by God. Lucifer and the mischievous angels who dissented against God were sent there (Matthew 25:41). Also, the place for the human population that does not follow the teachings of God is Hell. Both the humanity and the angelic beings are in hell because of sin (Romans 6:23). According to Psalms 18:30, God is morally perfect and completely righteous. Always, he does what is right, and there is no obscurity or the minutest fleck of deficiency (1 John 1:5).
The standard bar for which is wrong, moral and right is God himself. Human beings would have had nothing to measure themselves against were it not God being the standard measure of perfection. Anything that fails sort of perfection according to God is aberrant, and therefore every person that has ever lived on the surface of the earth has committed sin since the fall of Adam from grace (Romans 3:23).
The whole human race encompasses a sinful disposition as a result of the sins committed by Adam (Romans 5:12). However, going to hell is not an aftermath of the sins of Adam but because of the sins which human beings commit freely (James 1:1). God gave us with the power to choose between what is wrong and right.
God being infinite, eternal and immutable means that all the sins are basically against Him and therefore God has pronounced that the just chastisement for such sins should also be interminable (Matthew 25:46). God creation of human being is to live eternally and therefore any wrong committed against another person is also eternally (Tim, 2015).
For those who commit sin and have failed to meet the righteous standard of God will go to Hell as they have broken the Gods law of moral perfection. According to Psalms 7:11, God is just when he sends people to Hell for breaking His laws. A perfect analogy is that of any just court of law; the judge convicts a person found guilty of an offence. If by any chance, the judge did not manage to pursue impartiality for the delinquency committed, then the judge is not just (Deuteronomy 32:4).
Some sins are considered mortal and another grave. Mortal sins involve the radical rejection of Gods love (Catechism, No. 1845). A person faces a radical break with God at the time of his death if he dies in the state of moral sin and this is what the hell is all about. According to Pope John Paul II, hell is not a penance imposed superficially by God but the progression of the premises previously set by the human beings in this life. In other words, Hell proceeds the very nature of the mortal sin (Wandel, 2015). God does not send people to Hell, but it is something that they choose for themselves.
In any sense, the conception of Hell provides connotation to our existence (Conway, 2013). It depicts that the ethical choices that a person makes each day hold eternal significance and that the behavior has a significant consequence that lasts to an eternity of which God personally takes the choices people make seriously. The dogma of Hell has significant social impact. If there were not to be a principle of the ultimate justice, the peoples sagacity of ethical obligation would dissolve, and the social bonds were broken. Repeatedly, Jesus issued warnings that if we deviate from the Godly ways in this existence, eternally, people will be estranged from God. Jesus further depicted that the reward of sin is death. According to Romans 6:23, Paul postulates that the endowment of God is the eternal existence of the Lord Jesus. While breath vestiges, it is certainly never late to seizure the moment and asks God for atonement and when sought for clemency, God fervently grants it.
Nonetheless, the right news is that God is forgiving (Berchie, 2016). Through His rich compassion, He provided a way through which sinners can avoid the castigation of hell through believing in the expiation of Jesus Christ, His Son (Mark 16:16). According to 1 Peter 2:24, the forfeit of sin for Christians has been detached and placed on Christ at the cross. Because of the detriment of Christ, it is considered that God is impartial and the sin is chastised, and yet is lenient to all who do believe in him.
