Introduction
People often picture the world differently according to their life experiences and how they have been brought up; some see the world as cruel while others view it as a kind world. In most cases, people despise the homeless living in the streets not knowing what they might have gone through to be in that particular situation. They are often judged according to their appearance and status as well as looked down upon by many. The purpose of this paper is to encourage humanity and kindness to every person you interact with at any given time. The paper, therefore, expounds on my specific insight, how I developed it, and why I gained the insight by demonstrating the action with facts and examples.
My Insight
My insight is that people should not be too quick to judge others according to their appearance as well as we should treat people or strangers the way we would want to be treated. The action is because my real-life experiences have taught me valuable life lessons such that most people act opposite from what they seem to be. For instance, a wealthy person might look down upon the poor by throwing trash at them, destroying their property, or refusing to help them. A poor or homeless person, on the other hand, will always be willing to help the rich, defend them, or do actions that will impress the wealthy.
How I Developed My Insight
I developed my insight from a certain homeless old beggar who used to sing every evening when children were from school. He was very friendly and would at times help children cross the busy road when they were unable. In return, the children would keep their lunches and share with him in the evening. There were, however, two siblings who would return home singing the old man’s daily song, telling their mother how they met a new friend, and even offering him their remaining lunch. Their mother would get furious with them for interacting with the old, dirty beggar and would even warn them to follow the route where the beggar resided. The siblings, however, could not resist the old man as their friendship had grown stronger. To stop the children from interacting with the beggar, their mother decided to give them poisoned pizza to take to the old man after school so that he would die. The mother, however, forgot to pack lunch for her children and therefore, the children had to starve, keeping in mind that they had to give their old friend some food in the evening. After school, the children followed their routine and branched to the old man’s daily place and gave him the poisoned pizza. The children, however, told the man that they were hungry as their mother forgot to pack food for them and requested if they could share. The old man decided to sacrifice the entire pizza and gave them to eat as they were like his children. When the children returned home, they complained to their mother of severe stomach pains and acknowledged eating the old man’s pizza which they had been given. As they were being rushed to the hospital, they died on the way, leaving their mother speechless, in regret, and in pain.
Why I Gained the Insight
I gained my insight from learning the moral lesson of the mother’s actions. She lost all her children because of hatred and inhumanity to the old beggar. If she had not judged the old man, her children would have been alive and would have learned more from the old man. She also learned facts from the old beggar’s song which her children would sing for her. “Whatever you do to others, you do it for yourself.”
Conclusion
In conclusion, people’s actions are often influenced by our actions such that when one is treated with love and care, the same is reciprocated to us. Judging people often come with regrets as the person judging never knows the life experience of the other person. Therefore, we should always be kind, loving, and friendly to every person we interact with, as they bring more blessings to our lives.
