Introduction
Physical education, health, and fitness deal with developing students' physical knowledge and competence of safety and movement. According to Pate (1988), physical fitness aid individuals adapt to a healthy and active lifestyle. An Individual’s generic skills and confidence are also improved. The study summarizes various internet sites with content related to physical education, health, and fitness.
Physical Education
According to research conducted by Baranowski et al. (1992) on prevalence, cardiovascular, and assessment benefits of fitness and physical activity, physical fitness, and activity get identified as been vital to health. Physical fitness reduces the likelihood of diseases like diabetes, hypertension, and coronary artery disease, among others (Baranowski et al., 1992). According to Basch (2011), physical fitness and education aid in cognitive aspects. Lack of physical activity and fitness results in low school academic performance since the mental aspects get affected. Introducing physical education in schools aid to develop all-round active individuals. Concerning Bailey et al. (2009) journal article, physical education aid in developing cognitive, affective, social, and physical aspects. It also improves an individual’s physical competence and movement skills.
Blair, Cheng, & Holder (2001) researched whether physical activity or fitness was vital in defining health. Physically active individuals have reduced health issues risks like colon cancer and stroke and have greater longevity. However, no factual findings regarding which was better among the two were made. Fleishman's (1964) article focuses on the measurement and structure of physical fitness. The use of fitness index computation, progress rate evaluation, and profile analysis got illustrated as the best measure of physical fitness. Folkins & Sime's (1981) article focuses on identifying physical fitness effects on mental health. The research thus indicates that physical fitness results in improved work behavior, self-concept, and mood. Physical fitness does not, however, have any effect on the personality trait.
Conclusion
Vanhees et al. (2005) article focus on illustrating the various ways of assessing physical fitness and activity. Laboratory and field tests were identified to be best for evaluating physical fitness. Subjective, objective, and criterion methods got suggested for physical activity. Grissom (2005), in his research, investigated the relationship of academic achievement with physical fitness. A positive correlation got reported. An increase in physical fitness increased the student's academic performance. Salovey et al. (2000) article on physical health and emotional states indicates that when individuals have a positive emotional state that may lead to healthy beliefs, perceptions, and physical well-being—having pleasant emotions and feelings results in good health.
