Language acquisition is described as the process of children acquiring full control of their native languages as they mature. Children have a device for acquiring language through constructing innate grammar and uniformity that is realized throughout all human beings as they grow. Different sources can be used to make individuals aware of the process of language acquisition since birth because they support it in unique ways and are important for use in future professions of the individual using them.

Language developmental stages are divided into several processes from the time a child is born to the time they grow up and start gaining experience on how to read and write. As Hutauruk (2015) explains, the stages include cooing, babbling, a stage of two-word pronunciation called the holophrastic stage, the telegraphic, and finally, the multiword stage. This article supports language acquisition in children by showing different environmental factors that make acquisition and extension of language abilities to occur.

It also shows the problems that children face in the acquisition of their first language as well as the approach children use in acquiring more mature linguistic competences as they progress on in life. The children learn a lot of words through complex structures and relations that are both semantic and pragmatic (Hutauruk, 2015). I will use this source in my future profession to help children understand how they should acquire full control of both their native and foreign languages systematically, just like they control how they learn other activities like learning to walk.

The second source by NIDCD (2014) explains the development of language and speech in children from the first three years of their life. The development of both of these aspects begins from the time their brains start developing and maturing from insights and exposure to other people and their speeches and languages. The article supports language acquisition by showing different milestones that are required for the growth of both speech and language from basic expression styles such as crying for food or for companionship. It also explains the differences between language and speech disorder and how it affects children hence delays mastering language skills that children require to express themselves. This source will be used in future careers to conduct research that can be used to improve the living standards of people who live with communication disorders.

The third source by Darling-Churchill & Lippman (2016) explains the development of social and emotional cognitions that help to explain language development in children. The more children socialize with other people from their young ages and get emotionally connected to them, the easier it is for them to develop special skills in language and expression of their thoughts. A relationship between social and emotional connection to other people explains how the children slowly learn to use both aspects to develop their language skills and know-how to understand others.

Reliability and validity are essential in the capturing of different competencies in populations such as children with the challenge of learning dual languages. Other children may have different disabilities or face restrictions from diversity in cultural traditions, which makes it hard for language acquisition for such groups of children (Darling-Churchill & Lippman, 2016). This source will be used in the future profession to target different disabled groups of children and creating strategies through which they can learn to develop their languages without a hindrance from their physical states.
