Introduction

The number of things learned in this class is immense. The course has enabled me to appreciate the learning process since I now understand the various means of taking information and processing it to enhance comprehension of the course content. Acknowledgment of the learning process entails the ability to pursue and persist in learning, organize one’s studying process through time and information management, and work individually and in group activities. The objective of this paper is to reflect on the class course.

One of the things I liked about the class is the fact that it enhanced the development of my debating skills. The course allowed us to look at the two sides of an argument and develop opinions from the incorporation of one’s general knowledge and personal values to the information acquired recently. Through such practices, we developed different ideas and lines of thoughts that were debated through a class session. The learners would give their comments that either agrees or disagree with the proposition hence improving my debating skills. Additionally, I also liked that we had a vast range of materials for use in class pertaining to the course content. We had a lot of information at our disposal, which allowed me to become a critical thinker in analyzing and grouping the data. I also appreciated the fact that the teacher was supportive, and we had good interactions. Such enhanced communications helped smoothen the learning process allowing the fast grasping of the course content and material.

The class was primarily taught online. Most of the interactions with the tutor and students were done through electronic means. One of the things I disliked about the study was the regular crash of technologies that happened during our group or class activities hence interfering with the smooth learning process. Such technological issues, which were unavoidable, contributed to ineffective communication during group work and class activities. Asides from this dislike, I liked most of the course content and how the class progressed throughout the semester.

As I sit and reflect on the course, I have some things that I thought I should have focused on more than I did during the course module. In particular, I should have focused more on the slide presented by the instructor via the zoom platform to enhance a better understanding of the course content. I did not focus on the PowerPoint, yet it summarized most of the required facts and basic knowledge that one should have before a class. Instead, I read the slide later only to realize that I would have solved some of the challenges, such as difficulties in grasping course module facts that I experienced. I have no reason why I ignored the slide presentation, but if I had known better, I would have focused on it more.

At the beginning of the class, one of my strengths was that I was passionate about learning something new. The potency may have contributed to my added zeal and motivation that sailed me towards completing the module. I was devoted to learning, and I retained the enthusiasm to the end. Besides, I have always been a good timekeeper and manager, which is another strength I possessed at the start of the course. Being a good time manager helped me in the timely completion of assignments. By the end of the period, I would affirmatively assert that my time management skills could have instigated my success.

One of my major weaknesses, especially at the start of the course module, was adapting to the zoom classes. I was used to face-to-face instructional learning techniques. Being exposed to zoom during this course module was hectic for me, mainly due to frequent internet disruptions. Poor internet connection made me be kicked out of the zoom meetings whenever I tried to attend the online class. I had to work towards solving the problem, but my primary concern was what I was missing out on all the time. Focusing on the zoom classes was also a challenge since I had not selected the best learning environment since I was new to online studies. At times the atmosphere was noisy and disrupted the learning process. Such challenges did not proceed towards the end of the course since I had become more knowledgeable about the zoom platform and the importance of selecting a non-disruptive learning environment.

Lastly, I would have improved on various factors to ensure that the learning process becomes more effective than it was. First, I could exert effort on searching for information on my debates. I felt that my points during the debate segment were not as strong, particularly compared to the suggestions provided by the instructor and classmates. They had significant knowledge of the topic. One of the reasons I believe I lacked strong debate points was that I ignored the slide presentation and did not focus on it. With further research and studies, I would have improved my knowledge of the content, and my participation would have improved. Secondly, I would have conducted prior studies and research on how zoom classes work to avoid the issues and challenges I encountered at the beginning of the course module. I would have asked for guidance from those experienced in using zoom or my instructor, who was supportive and ready to help us whenever we faced any challenges. Asides from that, the learning process was smooth and a success.

Conclusion

To conclude, the class module was a success, and although I faced numerous challenges, I maneuvered them. The support from the instructor and my classmates were my anchor throughout the course. My primary challenge was studying via the zoom platform, which I solved as we progressed. Some of my regrets were ignorance of a slide presented to us and the failure to conduct further research to enhance my participation in the debates.
