Therefore, it is recommended that safety measures be taken to ensure that risks are minimized as lowest as possible. (Kumar et al., 2015). Some of the significant ways in which safety can be enhanced at construction sites are discussed below.
Observation of the rules and regulations at the construction sites. Several rules and regulations exist that help in guiding on the safety measures at the construction sites. (Mackie, 2012). Some of the most common rules and regulations that can be observed include; proper dressings of any given place such as long clothes that cover sufficient parts of the body and also ensuring that long hairs are appropriately tied to prevent any physical risks. This will prevent the incidences such as fire and others like chemical burns.
Safety equipment are also important in any construction sites. Although the safety code and requirements vary among various places of work, construction sites need to have some necessary equipment that provide safety to the workers. (Kumar et al., 2015). Some of the equipment that are recommended in any construction sites are; helmets, other hard head hats, protective shoes that provide safety to the feet, safety glasses that offer protection to the face including the eyes, the nose and also the safety gloves that are put on the hands to prevent hand damages.
Potential hazards for workers in construction should be noted. It is so important to be knowledgeable about some of the common hazards that lead to the lack of safety at the construction sites (Andersen et al., 2010) These include the collapse of trenches and high stones, shocks resulting from electrical appliances and many other forms of hazardous materials that may pose a high risk to the people at the construction sites. (Kines et al., 2010). This will help in the management of a safe and conducive working environment at the construction sites.
In conclusion, it is evident that safety at any construction sites is so important and that every person needs to take note of that. Hence, it is good to know the regulations of safety measures, the equipment needed for safety and some of the potential hazards that lead to an unsafe environment at the construction sites.
