Why is music important
Unconditional love https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mh1PIvbwpS4
There is that one piece that just refuses to get out of your mind, that one tune that perches its abode in your brain and sticks its head out whenever your mind is a little bit unoccupied. That one tune that you find yourself unconsciously whistling to in the washrooms or when walking down the streets. There is this one piece that I cannot get over, it has stood the test of time and has proved itself to be my all time favorite. I have listened to many pieces but with time they just fade away, at times I even struggle to remember the flow of its tune. But not this one.
Essay about music in my life
Music has a profound effect on the brain activity of every human being. Research, for instance, has shown that when people listen to classical music, they display a synchronized pattern of brain activity, showing that music has a universal component in all of us. We all, however, experience music differently. The research has shown that when one listens to a piece of music for the first time, the strength of certain neural connections will give the likelihood of how much you will end up liking the music. These preferences are determined by one’s previous experience of what they had earlier heard and liked.
In some way, this song gives me some identity. Many are the times my friends have told me the type of music I listen to suits me that it somehow describes who I am. Music has deep influence over the way we dress, the way we talk and our interactions with others. This is the profound impact this piece has had on me (Hughes, 2013).
Essay on influence of music in my life
I grew up in a neighborhood infested with all sorts of illegal activities going on. That neighborhood where children would drop out of school at an alarming rate and end up engaging in selling illegal substances on the street corner. Gang fights were all too common; many were the families that were dotted with single parents, with one parent either absconding their duties, dead or serving some jail term. It was hard to come by a loyal friend, a true friend with whom you could have a meaningful relationship with. The gangs would separate brothers and friends, pitting them against each other. Our mothers would warn us against being lured by the fast, tiny money obtained from the sale of drugs, encouraging us to pursue education instead.
Despite the harsh conditions of the neighborhood, I somehow managed to create friendships, albeit ones that were short lived. My friends were deep into gang activities, and drug dealing, and it was just a matter of time before they would either end up in correctional facilities at best or felled by a bullet at worst. Though we had our squabbles and fights, mostly stemming from trying to talk them out of their drug and gang ways, we would always reconcile and have a good laugh later on. Whenever I listen to this song it reminds me of the good old times, we shared with my friends, of the memories, we had growing up in rough neighborhoods, of the fights and squabbles and later some laughter. It reminds me of the possibility of the future that we might have ended up leading had the cruel hand of death not knocked on their doors and took my friends away.
