Secondly, childcare usually plays an essential role in the child’s upbringing since it helps to keep them healthy and safe while the parent is working. This is mainly possible due to the childcare institutions' effort to provide a safe and friendly environment where the child can stay without the parent having to worry (Bower et al., 2008).

The Position Resonates

The two main positions that I believe are correct include; first, childcare plays an essential role in the kid's life since the environment acts as a stepping-stone to jumpstarting various social skills such as communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and respect. These skills help to prepare them for adult life and also form a strong foundation for future relationships with friends or family members. The childcare environment also helps to minimize separation anxiety, particularly through interaction with other children. Secondly, childcare plays an essential role in the child’s growth and development. This shows that the individuals who take care of the child are also responsible for molding and shaping the child’s mind. Parents should consider several key factors when selecting the best facility for their child’s development. Some of these factors include cleanliness, staff, healthy eating factors, and price. Exposing the children to an institution with these factors improves the child's brain development abilities. For instance, a child who is eating a healthy and balanced diet is more likely to have better brain development than a child who does not consume a balanced diet.

My Main Points

Based on my assessment, my main points include, that children usually develop a sense of pride and self-worth while around other kids since they tend to learn how to take care of themselves. For example, when children are in daycare, teachers often give them various tasks such as passing items and setting the table in order to prepare them for the different real-life skills that they might require in the future. Learning these skills enables the child to feel courageous enough to interact with other children since they have learned all the skills that make them fit within the group.

The Counter Points

My main counterpoint is that childcare does not prepare children for the challenges that they are likely to encounter in school and later on in life. Parents believe that childcare institutions' main role is to assist in the child's development, for instance, by providing a safe environment where the child learns various social skills such as communication (Hansen & Hawkes, 2009). The childcare institutions do not expose the students to various challenges that are meant to prepare them for future situations or challenges. In most cases, preparation for future obstacles or challenges is usually done in elementary schools where teachers expose the students to different life situations such as how to tackle or solve a certain case that they are likely to encounter in life.
