The Bible verses in Malachi 3:6-10 talks about the need to pay tithes to the Lord. It stresses on the importance of paying full offering without holding back any amount of it. Malachi 3:6-12 gives a promise to those who give a tithe. It recognizes why it is necessary to pay the ten per-cent. Malachi 3:10 says "Bring all the first fruits into the storehouse, it means that those who pay tithes regularly that they will receive God's blessing in abundance. As a requirement, the bible says that we should give 10% of what we earn to the church. It means Abraham fulfilled the obligation of the Lord. It also makes another issue clear. From Malachi 3:10, the bible said that we should pay tithe so that there might be food in the Lord's storeroom. A good example is in Malachi 3:8 which explain that failure to pay tithes in full amount to robbery to the lord. The bible was against robbing God, whoever does that shall be punished, and he/she will never receive the reward associated with tithing such as blessings. Leviticus 27; 30 also says "A tithe of everything from the land, whether grain from the soil or fruit from the trees, belongs to the LORD; it is holy to the LORD."

Malachi in the Hebrew, in other words, means 'my messenger.' The Bible identifies the form of Malachi as a constitution of defensible position and research problems that have developed from the scholarly debates. Malachi is also a scripture under the Oracle name because of its constitution of becoming a scribal prophecy with no author. When people, for instance, develop financial problems, they use the book of Malachi to honor and obey God with their resources. Therefore since they have put the kingdom of God first, He meets their needs. "Bring all Tithes to the house of God" is merely the answer to human problems and that is why God is asking people to take their ten percent to God. In the past, it's not that people never gave things to God, but they failed to offer the tithes. Therefore God does not like people falling short of his glory because of their finances.

In the bible, it is noticeable that the covenant of tithing came from the Old Testament to the New Testament. For instance, in Hebrews 7:5-9, the bible says that tithing was honored and practiced by God even before the Law of Moses. The New Testament, in other words, speaks with a lot of clarity in the principle of filling the storehouse of God. Hebrew also adds that giving is an act that must be proportional, planned, private and periodic. However, the New Testament does not emphasize tithing as the Old Testament, and this has made many Christians relax. Nevertheless, Hebrews talks about the proportion of giving and the returns they expect. Therefore even though the benchmark of giving is ten percent, people are encouraged to tithe willingly where the more someone gives, the more they will be blessed.

Conclusion

Giving is an act that should come from the heart. However several principles are issued by God to guide Christians as well as showing them how they will be blessed. Malachi 3:6-10 is a book that talks about giving to God so that the storehouses could be filled. The book also emphasizes that people should not steal from God. Hebrew clarifies the principles of Malachi by stating that since Moses respected the law of tithing, we should also do the same.
