Barack Obama made history when he became the first African American President of the United States. Barack Obama made Americans believe anybody could make it regardless of race or background (Hutchings 940). He was the forty-fourth president of the United States. The Obama presidency conjures images of Barack Obama, tall 6'1", all salt and pepper hair, waving his hand, left or right (he is left-handed), accompanied with his wife energetic wife Michelle Obama, face beaming with a smile that melts hearts and shows a world of cares; the Obamas are visually striking. Michelle Obama supported him all the way; from the first time when he was elected Illinois senator to the "Yes We Can" inspired successful presidential bid with the Democratic ticket in 2008.

The Obamas are possibly the most famous family in the world. For eight years, from 2009 to 2017 they occupied the most identifiable building in the world; the White House. Even though they are ex-tenants of the House on the Hill, the Obamas are arguably more prominent than their selves and not just regarding height. They are admittedly tall; everywhere they go they stand out. They have a magnetic and charismatic presence right. Michelle Obama is also tall and has a curvaceous body type. She certainly inspired millions of women around the world to own and accept their bodies (Harris and Avi 171); in essence be comfortable in their skins. Additionally, besides their parents, there are the former first daughters: Malia Obama the first born and Natasha "Sasha" Obama, both as vivacious and magnetic as their parents (Loizeau 130). Malia Obama as of 2018 now stands at one inch above six feet; that is her father's height.

Michelle and Barack Obama's marriage is the archetypal definition of true love, enduring together through thick as a family, the Obamas represent a warm, happy American family. The children Malia and Sasha are humble and reserved (Harris and Avi 173). From 2009 to 2017 while the Obamas occupied the White House, Barack Obama managed to escape any personal and family scandals. Avoiding scandals while having the hardest and indeed most inquired after job in America and the world, in general, is no mean feat. Barack Obama has family in three continents at least. He has siblings in Indonesia and Kenya. He truly is a world leader.

Barack Obama faced a lot of criticisms from some people, especially Republicans when he was seeking Democratic endorsement (Atwater 128). Critics said he was too inclusive to take America to greater heights while others questioned whether he was born in the United States (Frank 180). However, through all that, they stood together as a family, supported each other as they still do and won the admiration of people all over the world. Barack Obama legacy was in the Obamacare act, the killing of Obama bin Laden and most importantly making people believing in change.

In conclusion, Barack Obama and the Obamas in general, are a light in the dark. Even though Barack Obama was the one who got elected, his family played a significant role. The four of them, on the whole, are more than the sum of their parts. His wife Mitchelle endured with him their tumultuous first few years while dating and in marriage. They are still very influential. Malia and Sasha are always on the lenses of the paparazzi; everybody wants to know if they are dating and who. Barack and Michelle and now more united than ever in endorsing Democratic and liberal causes, charities and events. On October 3, 2018, they celebrated 26 years of marriage. The Obamas, led by Barack Obama, are the most inspiring family I know.
