It is vital for individuals to do what they believe is right; they should not allow interference from external forces. For instance, Abednego, Meshach, and Shadrach were thrown in a furnace because they defied the King's rule to worship idols (Daniel 3:16-18). They stood by their decision to worship the only true God. They claimed that God would save them from burning in the furnace. Additionally, they insisted that they could only bow to God who could save them.

The second lesson involves the pressure that is associated with peers. In our case, the story of Daniel runs throughout the chapter. His peers persuaded him to live according to the Assyrian lifestyle, which he refused and believed in living a righteous life. The four people stood firm to support their faith in God (Andrews, 2017). They were pressured to join the King and dine together. Instead, they requested the meal they were used to in their homeland and turned out to be the strongest.

The last lesson comes from the scenario where Daniel was in a lion’s den. It was a harsh condition between him and his allies, but he believed in his faith by fighting for what he thought was right. In case they had accepted the King's policies, the scenarios would have been different. God saved them from all their circumstances (Harrub, 2015). We should not shake when we are in hardship, and we are supposed to ask for a breakthrough from the Almighty God. Daniel prayed for God’s intervention while in the lions’ den. He prayed for God's intervention. An Angel accompanied Meshach, Shadrach, and Abednego when they were flung in the furnace. It was a sign of God's intervention because they never feared being intimidated.

The reading is a clear indication that Christians should use their faith to influence others to seek God. During the time Daniel was in the lions’ den, the King was influenced to find the righteous way after seeing him spared by the lions. He even went ahead to interpret the King's dream (Harrub, 2015). Like Daniel, Christians should maintain their faith so that the rest of the world can admire the Kingdom of God. From the reading, it is evident that God served as the central aspect of Daniel's Life. Daniel's daily routine was prayers, and God never left him amid the lions. If we trust in God, he will always be in our midst when we are in trouble.

There are many times that Christians find themselves in tests. Daniel's faith was put into a trial. Meshach, Abednego, and Shadrach were Jews who were limited to some types of meals. For instance, some meals such as pork were meant for the idols and pagans. It is normal for Christian to find themselves in a test of faith, and the best thing is to trust in God and overcome them.

Things Learnt from the Prayers

From the reading, it is evident that faith is a crucial element that individuals should incorporate into their prayers. Throughout my life, I have always believed that God is the protector and always on my side. The story of Daniel has played a significant role in proving my theory. I have learned from the reading that I should try as much as possible to avoid societal and friends peer pressure and do things according to my will (Harrub, 2015). Peer pressure can drug anyone to do something against God's will, thus falling into temptations. Peer pressure has always existed and will always exist; therefore, it is upon us to pray for God's guidance.

A Way of Applying the Lessons Learned from this Chapter.

One of the best ways to apply the knowledge from this section is by living as an example. I will encounter many obstacles, tests of faith, and other inconveniences, along with my Christian life. To serve a true Christian, I am expected to stand out boldly without fear of intimidation. Faith is supposed to be my crucial aspect that should be incorporated with a prayer to serve as my primary weapon in overcoming the many obstacles. I am supposed to influence others through my faith and righteous actions that portray God's teachings and guidance. I will do my best to have the faith and courage of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to help me withstand the earthly tortures. God will always show up in one way or another if we believe in Him and do according to his will. Our characters should be righteous and to help us treat other people equally. Pagans can change their way of life and seek God's intervention at any time. Therefore, I will serve as a vessel to convey the word and good deeds of God to non-Christians and help them transform.
