I learnt that global health is described as the area of study, research and practice that places a priority on improving and achieving equity in health for all people worldwide. I noticed that global health was affected by health distribution inequalities among countries with many resources and those with fewer resources, gender, structural violence ethnicity, income and social justice. However, I learnt that the current global trends including epidemiology, which is the study and analysis of the rising burden of diseases and how often they occur in different groups of people, the climate change and the increasing awareness of global differences in health, have increased interest in the global health field.

Anthropology was mainly concerned with humanity, in order to describe the physiology and nutrition history which makes us human beings and with social aspects such as language and cultures among others. It revolves around the knowledge from natural science including discoveries about the origin of human beings, their physical traits and how the evolutionary past has influenced its social organization and culture. In my state of curiosity, I wanted to learn what global health is and be able to know the source of global issues that affect human population.

My understanding about the global health was that, at the core of every public health, there is the need and motivation to serve others in need. In order for those in global health missions to serve first-hand, I noticed that they must observe how behavioral and social sciences play out in global health (S.J. Hoffman, 2013). One of the problems that arose from my experience as a patient was that ethic challenges for global health are posed by a world divided by health inequalities which have the power to delineate principles, duties and responsibilities holding global morally responsible for achieving certain goals.

The lack of moral framework for solving issues relating to global health justice is a very big problem in the world. I felt that the ethical principles endorsed should always include equal respect for all human lives and the individual health should be clearly observed worldwide. It is clear to me that global health inequalities are growing at a rate which no one expected. Having taken into consideration a country like Africa, I noticed that African children are at a risk of dying earlier today as compared to 10years ago hence making me ask myself which possible ways can this problem be controlled and maintained in order to wipe out the grievances resulting to their outcome (Whitehead, 2014). In order for global health inequalities to be reduced, marker mechanisms, government policy, individual and social commitments are required. I looked at the possibility of creation of more public goods, redistribution of resources and income among people and public regulations as ways that would hinder global health problems.

I took into account the increase in the global life expectancy over the past few years, and I observed that those countries which are still under-developed still struggling with global health problems. In order to deal with these problems of inequalities in incomes and resources, I assumed that efforts in ensuring that all people are treated equally and that there is proper redistribution of societal benefits among the people would in fact help the global health systems reach out to those fully in need of health care services. It was clear that health is valuable to an individual since it emphasizes on health capability where an individual has an ability to achieve good health. With my research I came across a fact that although reproductive health for women and girls have greatly improved, many women worldwide would prefer not taking into account the method of contraception but are doing nothing to reduce number of unexpected pregnancy experienced (Jong-Work, 2014).

As I was conducting a research in a maternal ward, I noticed that many of the young and expectant girls were between the ages of 15years to 23years. This awaken a concern on what results to the increase in birth cases among the young girls and concluded that most of them lack awareness on the importance of using the methods of contraception. The global health care system should come up with a forum to educate and distribute the contraceptives to those without knowledge about its existence and to those unable to afford them. The persistence of gender- based violence contributed to an increase in risks and vulnerability of women and girls. I realized that educating women and letting them earn and control their incomes can greatly reduce infant mortality, improve child health and nutrition and break down the cycles of poverty worldwide since population growth would slow down and later agricultural productivity would rise. With the increase in the number of volunteers and professional people all over the world, the gender inequality in the global health perspective would tremendously reduce (Whitehead, 2014). This will ensure there is creation of awareness to the disadvantaged countries even when they cant afford living a proper lifestyle.

Seeing the problems associated with global health, I learnt that increasing the number of volunteers to create awareness to the disadvantaged world-wide, educating women, and providing more public goods, would greatly help reduce the global health problems. Once the solutions are implemented, I strongly agree with the fact that infant mortality would reduce since population growth rate would have reduced hence increasing the agricultural production in the world. Educating more women and letting them control their incomes would surely increase employment since in my perspective, women too can be career oriented just like men. I also think that ensuring there is equal distribution of income and resources in a country, problems of health inequalities would be solved since people can afford treatment costs. Having noticed the less fortunate wonder around hospitals since they cannot afford their way into consultation to see a doctor, the thought of increasing more doctors and firing the corrupt ones should be adhered to. It is uncertain that even with the increased number of literate people worldwide, that there would be no illiterate people wringing on to those who are able to sustain themselves. It is also uncertain that after employment level has increased, that everyone would be working. Therefore, it is important to note that, the importance of increasing education systems is so that people can be able to sustain their needs and be able to control the global health perspective problems that affect them.
