Program need and description
A severe issue of substance abuse threatens the whole of the United States. Oklahoma is among the top states ranked for painkiller abuse and overdose deaths in the country.
The deaths are caused by illegal drugs combined with alcohol on a regular basis. CDC research confirmed that the number of opioid deaths increased between 1999 and 2015 (Jones, Christopher, et al. 2015). Opioid sales also rose by a similar margin. Overdose deaths happen year due to lack of awareness, poor communication advises from doctors and exploitation of prescription. Individuals who are addicted commonly get the prescription opioids from different doctors to acquire multiple opioid prescriptions (Inciardi, James, et al. 2009). This method keeps addicts supplied for a while but when they run out of the drugs they substitute them with heroin.
The project intends to increase the number of youth identified as at risk for suicide, increase the number of teenagers who will receive services and increase the number of teenagers who will receive training to identify and treat risks. The project also needs to serve over 2,000 American Indian youth. The population targeted is between the ages of 10-24 who are at risk for suicidal behavior.

Implementation plan
An initiative is known as Oklahoma Now is the Time will be implemented by Free Drug Community. The action will plan, develop and implement links of effective treatment, education, and support for youths. Free Drug community will collaborate with local laboratories to provide screening activities. The goals will be to increase awareness and understanding for early detection of mental disorder. Also, program support and assistance will be provided by Alkermes Inspiration Grants. The Alkermes will award $1 million for the expansion of programs.
Sustainable or replicable
Free drug community worked with two organizations in Oklahoma known as Change to Change and Catalyst Behavioral Services. They shared the vision of free Drug Community. The agencies remain committed to providing ongoing support to the work of FDC in the region to ensure that people access available resources to help them improve and maintain their overall health.
Evaluation
Free Drug Community is committed to preventing and reducing suicidal behavior and substance abuse. We propose to accomplish this by coming up with an initiative known as project Embrace. This project will target four counties. The four counties will be topmost 10% of the highest suicide rates in Okayama state (Thurman, David, et al. 1999). We expect to reach 12,000 youths in the four counties throughout one year grant.
