The Texas Trial Lawyers Association (TTLA) was established with the sole objective of uniting trial lawyers to cooperate and collaborate in promoting justice for families in Texas. There have been so many changes since the formation of TTLA, but their current primary mission is a reflection of the values set up 70 years ago. That is, to protect families in Texas through favorable policies and ethical lawyers. The common belief is that adequately equipped trial lawyers represent their clients' concerns best, thereby creating a more conducive state in terms of health and safety for the people to live and work.
TTLA’s service-oriented strategy is tailored to offer the members an advantage in the courtroom and while they are practising. The networking opportunities availed by TTLA provides members access to the full power of the other member's practice experiences and collective knowledge. TTLA’s advocacy of policies and political associations puts its members at the middle of every fight. Its goal is to protect the right to trial by a legal panel. Also, TTLA holds education seminars to assist its members in staying updated in the constantly changing legal environment. Generally, the association empowers the lawyers to fight for the rights of the people.
One of the issues that TTLA would like to see addressed is accountability and transparency in the institution associated with its functions. They are advocating for better supervision of correctional facilities. They realize that numerous kids in correctional facilities are getting hurt, and they would like the transparency of these institutions to increase and the children to be kept safe. TTLA is pushing for necessary steps to protect inmates in prisons and ensure that there are ways of identifying and addressing their concerns.
Texas Restaurant Association
The Texas Restaurant Association (TRA) sole mission is to enhance the business atmosphere for its members. Its services range from navigating the continually changing regulations, offering training and certifications, and empowering its members to assist in reducing indispensable content with practical and relevant solutions. TRA provides all services for the food-service industry ranging from legal matters, and operational concerns to marketing strategies. The members of TRA are restaurant owners, employees, and students.
In addition to the all-year support and multiple benefits, TRA unites the industry through its annual food-service trade show that also serves as a conference and marketplace. During this event, they cover the latest trends and the toughest operational challenges. Also, TRA assists in nurturing and developing the future workforce through educational programs and projects. Texas Restaurant Association has successfully advocated for the needs of the industry for eight decades and continues to support and safeguard the interests of its members.
The scales used in Restaurants have been an issue for the association. The law states that suppliers and restaurants are supposed to measure their products using scales. These scales ought to be registered so that the inspectors can ensure that they are accurate. Also, every registered scale must have a certification sticker that can be easily seen by the consumer. However, the law left out that food sold for immediate consumption from registration and inspection requirements irrespective of whether the food is consumed in the establishment or not. The bill does not extend to grocery stores where most of the products are ready for consumption. It has been an issue for TRA to ensure consistency in scales for such food, and they are working with the responsible organs of the government to amend this. TRA is urging for the clarification of the policy, and the strengthening of the language of the legislation.
