The theory of integral offers a model that is explicitly and implicitly related to complexity and addressing the issue of nurses' goodwill and well-being for the nurses and the medical team that relates to the nurses. The theory integrates the concepts and ideas from the existing philosophies and other different spiritual complexities that are present. Dossey provided a procedure and opportunity for medical staff to invest in a perspective that is accepted worldwide that involves caring behaviors being at the center of good nursing services in a professional way. These also help in making the working environment of the nurses very conducive and effective because the care offered by the nurses is relationship-centered with the sole aim of healing (Smith, & Parker, 2015). The theory is thus a very important tool that every nurse should use in tackling the day to day nursing activities which involve solving of complex problems in the medical field.

The Dossey theory can be applied in different care situations which a nurse encounters. The care for pain in patients is one of the examples that the theory guides and directs how to handle and the procedure of making the healing process relationship based (Shea, & Frisch, 2014). The theory of integral nursing care should thus be followed and adhered to for the clinicians to achieve the best healing method that is both effective and time-saving. Practicing the theory when giving medical care to patients who are in pain, for instance, involves pain management methods and accepted practices that prevent the pain from lingering. The theory provides ways to improved ways of pain management that while preventing the patient from participating in the co-creation of personalized encounters to relieve pain. Failure of the clinician to use the holistic care that is provided for in the theory of Integral of nursing and practice hinders the achievement of the mutually sought healing.

The issue of pain by both the patients and the nurses and the medical team have for a very long time been a headache. Thus a collective and universal way to handle pain in a well-crafted whole-person and theory-driven approach (Taylor, 2002). This is to ensure that all the all the pain experience; body, mind, and spirit are well addressed in a professional way that completely curbs the pain.

The principle of the theory of integral nursing and practice is healing and it is based on the concept of "knowing, doing, and being" as a long-term strategy to increase the quality of pain inhibition that the patients undergo. As a life-long personal journey towards attaining the best quality pain experience in harmony that is portrayed to patients through actions that shows care and integral dialogues (Taylor, 2002). Since there is no aspect of healing a patient that is more important than the other the aspects of healing brings better. The scholarly article provided good definition and explanation of the benefits and applications of the Dossey theory of integral nursing and practice.
