Healthy eating habits help us to achieve and maintain a healthy body, maintain nutrients adequacy and reduce chronic diseases risks. Fitness also requires body fitness and being physically active with help keep a good body. Physical activity is critical, and USDA Dietary Guidelines mentions it in the 8th edition to ascertain how significant it is in its role in promoting good health and disease prevention. We should consider eating foods with nutrients across all food groups, looking into which amounts are recommended. This way, one can maintain healthy body weight and also avoid getting diet-related diseases. The foods in the mean I take on a regular basis include; Cranberry juice cocktail which I take as a beverage. Also, the meal usually comprises scrambled eggs in margarine with salt which is a dairy product. Margarine used in the eggs is under fats and oils. Rice which is a grain product is also one of the foods to be served with the eggs. The food is also served with two beef sausages. Also, there are slices of raw peeled cucumber, filling in the vegetable products.
There are USDA guidelines intended for healthy adults and children who are two years old and older. They enhance health and reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart diseases. They include;
Following a healthy eating pattern at the appropriate calorie level to help maintain a healthy weight, reduce the risk of chronic diseases and promote nutrient adequacy.
The focus should be on the nutrient density, variety, and the recommended amounts. This will help one to meet nutritional needs within the calorie limits.
Calories from saturated fats and added sugars should be limited, and a reduction in sodium intake should be made. Cutting on foods and beverages high in these components to amounts which fit healthy eating patterns should be observed
A shift to healthier drink and food choices. This is by eating nutrient-dense foods and beverages in place of less healthy foods.
Supporting healthy eating patterns for all. A healthy eating pattern should be created and supported throughout the nation.
Cranberry juice is made from Cranberry fruits and is healthy since it is blended juice free from chemicals, and the sliced cucumbers. The juice and the cucumber are rich in vitamins which help to repair body tissues. USDA guidelines recommend fruits, and especially whole fruits. Scrambled eggs are from poultry and the two sausages which provide the body with proteins which are bodybuilding. Likewise, USDA recommends a variety of protein foods like legumes, chicken, and legumes. Also, the eggs are prepared with margarine which is fats. However, USDA guidelines state that a healthy eating pattern should be fat-free or low-fat dairy products. Rice which provides the body with carbohydrates which are energy giving foods according to USDA are high in calories and should be limited.
My eating habits are not entirely as described by USDA guidelines to be healthy eating patterns since there are missing nutrients in the meal. Oils are not in my food thus no oils which are essential for health enhancement. Also, there are no grains in the meal which have been recommended by USDA. Consequently, children, adolescents, and adults should meet these guidelines to help in health promotion and reduce the risk of getting chronic diseases.
