As a way of attaining particular nutritional requirements, individuals tend to introduce supplements in their diet. Normally, supplements are pills, powder, or liquid products that are consumed, thus ensuring that the body is supplied with the required amount of nutrients (Arentz et al., 2017). Based on the interview, vitamins, minerals, and herbal supplements were the most consumed products.

Normally, supplements are consumed to ensure the body is supplied with an adequate amount. For instance, about 70 percent of the participants indicated that they consume vitamin D supplements as they believe that their bodies do not receive enough from sunlight and other eatable products. In mineral, participants indicated that they mostly consume calcium and iron supplements. These supplements improve bone performance, thus strengthen their ability to conduct daily activities such as running (Arentz et al., 2017). Additionally, mineral supplements assist them to effectively overcome some health issues such as anemia, especially when they take the required amount of iron. In herbs, the participants indicated that they consume Echinacea supplements and garlic, which are essential in improving body performance. The approach improves activities such as digestion, thus enhancing how the body performs activities. Most of the participants indicated that they consume the supplement daily with food. In this case, taking the supplements in the food ensure their body are fully supplied with the required level of nutrients. For instance, two participants indicated that they consume supplement twice a day as they take their meal.

Consumption of Supplements

The consumption of supplements among participants is very surprising. In this case, participants are so concerned about their health, and hence, they believe that it is essential to supply with the required nutrients. Additionally, high application of supplements ensures the body can effectively overcome some critical issues such as diseases, which are caused by a lack of enough nutrients. Consuming the supplement, together with the food, helps participants to effectively overcome side effects (Arentz et al., 2017). As such, the approach helps in improving their health. For instance, mineral supplements ensure blood has required among calcium, which plays a vital role in nerve performance. As a way of controlling the application of supplements, the participants should seek nursing assist. The approach will help in reducing the negative effects that may be experienced due to a lack of understanding of their application. For instance, during pregnancy, most nurses may encourage women to take supplements to ensure they have enough amount of vitamin D.

Like other participants, I take vitamin, herbs, and mineral supplements. The approach ensures my body is supplied by the required amount of nutrients, which are essential for normal functioning. The application of supplements has highly improved my body, especially bones and teeth. Strong teeth are essential as they ensure I can effectively crush numerous products without any health challenge. As such, the approach helps in minimizing bone loss, thus maintaining the required mass. Additionally, consuming the supplement assures me that I am prone to issues, such as heart diseases, which have become a major challenge in modern life.

Conclusion

I consume the supplement when I suspect the body is lacking a particular nutrient. The approach helps me to avoid the massive accumulation of a particular nutrient in the body, thus causing other health issues. In some cases, I take supplements based on the doctor's advice, and this ensures the body is supplied with enough nutrients.
