According to this report, there has been an occurrence of lung disease, which is associated with vaping. There has been an ongoing investigation by The Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, drug administration, local health departments about the outbreak. Various media platforms have used reports from institutions like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to report the first death caused by the explosion of lung disease for those using e-cigarettes. Reports from CDC show that nearly 200 users of e-cigarettes have developed lung infections, with most victims being teens and adults (Peace & Turner,2018). According to reports, there is rising popularity of vaping among teenagers. Despite the age restrictions of not selling drugs to people under the age of 21, there has been an alarming increased rate of vaping. E-cigarette use involves inhaling the inhalation of liquid vapor produced by a battery-powered device.
The breaking news has brought mixed reactions to the strategies being used by the government to handle the issue. This has created a fear of increased consumption due to the methods used to manage the situation. People received feedback from the President threatening to do away with vaping. There is a need for a better approach to handle the issues related to the increasing rate of consumption; therefore, assurance of the safety of children and continued production by manufacturers. Different channels have aired the views of columnists and experts concerning the subject of the use of e-cigarettes.

Previous reports highlighted the presence of THC products hence the explosion. From the reports, it was clear that the data pointed towards the presence of THC products, but the CDC stressed that there was no clarity on what the risky substance was.
The Center for tobacco production at the US Food and Drug Administration, however, cautioned on the fact that the data relied on personal reports and could be inaccurate, as reported by CNN. Some of these reports come from teenagers, where the use of THC is illegal in their states (Supperville & Prothero, n.d.). The agency stated that the only way to ensure safety as investigations went on was to avoid the use of e-cigarettes and vaping products.
