In the United States, the crimes adversely affect the American economy and the national security at large. Markedly, they have taken a whole new dimension especially, after the introduction of the internet. Evidently, the crimes not only affect the state internally, but also beyond its borders due to threats from countries such as Russia, Italy, and the Middle East among others. The hazards make the policy makes to doubt the effectiveness of the strategies that have been implemented with the aim of curbing the crimes.

Tax evasion and fraudulent activities are potential threats to the American economy. Ideally, the illegal activities weaken the existing financial market. As a result, the increase in organized crimes in America prompted the federal government to create a body called the Omnibus crime control. The body worked together with international and the domestic efforts to curb the increasing crimes. According to FBI, the risks and threats that were caused by the crimes are transforming to being more complex forms than they were previously.
