Write a reflection explaining how you might use these apps to help you with common screenings of women and/or LGBTQ+ individuals.
Based on what I have seen in regards to screening apps, as a nurse, these apps could be useful when discharging my duties. After examining them keenly and seeing how the apps operate, then I found that the apps can benefit both the health care provider and the patient depending on the type of the app since they perform different functions. (Guo, et al2019) I might use the apps to make my work easier by recommending them so that a patient can download them. That will avoid congestion in the clinic since the apps can be used by patients on their own, and they can get solutions to their problems without necessarily seeing a nurse.
Explain what you found helpful about these particular screening apps
What I found helpful about these apps is, for instance, an app like contraception will be very useful when giving out contraception because the app enables a nurse to determine a safe method of contraception depending on the conditions of the patient. (Santo et al., 2016) Another one is the pregnancy calculator app. This app will be useful for pregnant mothers because it enables them to know the milestones of their pregnancies thus avoiding unnecessary visits to the hospitals and therefore reducing the number of patients being attended to by a nurse.
Explain how these screening apps relate to approving agency guidelines, as well as how these apps are valid based on these guidelines.
How these apps relate to approving agencies is, for instance, in terms of quality, the apps have met the requirements that guarantee the effectiveness and safety of the results. When it comes to security, the apps allow the users to create passwords, and that ensures that the privacy and security of the user’s data are adhered to. (Shuren, Patel & Gottlieb 2018) These apps are valid based on the guidelines of the approving agency since the apps were subjected to all the guidelines and thereafter approved. (Mitka, 2013)
