Diabetes is health condition that is involved with the blood sugar level in the human body. The situation may come along with other problems that include the hormone insulin. Under normal conditions, the pancreas should release insulin which helps the body store and uses the fat and sugars from the foods that people consume and also helps in breaking the fats down. The chances of the diabetic condition occur when the pancreas produces very little insulin when the body does not respond to the insulin resistance condition, or when the pancreas does not produce any more insulin. Thus, an individual is termed diabetic once their blood sugar and blood glucose levels rise too high (John et al., 2009). With the little information provided concerning diabetes, it would play a significant role in distinguishing the conditions behind the curing of diabetes. In the writing of this paper, it will help deliver details and answer the question as to whether we can cure diabetes or not.

Diabetes revolves around the effect of high blood sugar levels that cause injuries to the human health problems that may arise if not managed. The health conditions may be limited whatsoever but can it be permanently cured? In type 1 diabetes, the disease develops the instance the body destroys the cells that are meant to produce insulin in the pancreas; thus, the people infected with diabetes type 1 do not make any insulin. In diabetes type 2, there is a decrease or a drop-in sensitivity to insulin, and the body does not deliver significant use of the insulin as it is needed and this type is more common than the type 1 diabetes.

Is Diabetes Curable?

In many interaction and involvements, there are different claims that diabetes is curable, but within the medical context about diabetes, there is no definite cure, but the condition can fall into "remission." Remission involves a happening whereby the body does not in one way or the other show any signs of diabetes but the disease is still in the body. Similarly, the remission would assume different forms according to the given care. It would be partial, completes or prolonged (Kajsa, et al., 2015).

Partial remission- this type of reduction surrounds the situation where an individual has had or is having a lower level of blood glucose than that of a person with the diabetic condition for more than a year without any diabetic medications.

Complete remission- this state entails a situation where the levels of the blood glucose returned to healthy without the use of any drugs for at least a year.

Prolonged remission- it involves the form where an individual face a complete remission that lasts for at least five years.

However, an individual would have normal levels of blood sugars lasting for more than ten years, but the condition of their diabetes does not the consideration as cured but instead considered to be in remission. Most people would embrace the notion of the disease being cured but since there is no known cure, there is actualization that reduction works, and it happens through a series of different changes in life especially the lifestyle of an individual. On the other hand, the term managing diabetes would be most appropriate in the context of the disease study.

Can We Cure Type 1 Diabetes?

The type 1 diabetes is not prevalent in individuals. It is an autoimmune condition that it in most cases diagnosed in children or childhood. With the situation, it takes place when the body attacks the beta cells of the pancreas that are attacked mistakenly which makes it impossible for the pancreas to produce insulin which is essential in breaking and balancing the levels of glucose in the blood. The condition may sound disturbing, and after a series of activities, it may be managed (Atkinson et al., 2014).

Mostly, the word managing would play a significant part in explaining what happens instead of the phrase curing. What happens is, individuals, follow and are administered to following particular practices that render the diabetic condition into remission. The activities or individual practices play a significant role in helping the body produce the insulin and manage any attack that may be happening to the pancreatic cells in the body. Nonetheless, various actions support and control the condition rather than cure. They involve using implantable devices or the use of verapamil drug.

Use of Implantable Devices- the use of the implantable devices is an occurrence that has been happening for some time now. The tools play a significant role in managing the type 1 diabetes. With the use of the implantable devices the help in protecting the beta cells found in the pancreas that may be destroyed mistakenly by the human immune system for a period of up to 5 months or six. Using these devices, they enhance the lifespan of the beta cells thus a significant step in helping diabetic people manage the condition.

Use of Verapamil- verapamil is a drug that attains usage for blocking the calcium channel. In the context of its structure, the drug gained usage especially in the past to treat conditions such hypertension (high blood pressure) that may lead to other diseases and has proved helpful to an individual with diabetes over a period. In different studies, people who have type 1 diabetes along with other with the type 2 diabetes acquired the verapamil. In several occurrences, individuals using the drug had a much lower level of glucose in their blood compared to those that never used the drug. With such results, the events warranted a clinical trial that provided chances that the drugs may be used to treat the diabetic condition.

Thus, in most of the different events concerning the involvement of the various attempts to ensure a low blood glucose level, there is no definite cure for type 1 diabetes, but the condition can face controlling.

Can We Cure Type 2 Diabetes?

Correspondingly, the type 2 diabetes is a condition that is common comparing to the type 1 diabetes. The chances of reducing or reversing the type 2 diabetes symptoms and signs and ensuring that the situation is placed into remission are higher than there is for the type 1 diabetes. It is because the condition is not an autoimmune condition but nay face influences and effect from other circumstances and practices for instance lifestyle practices. Within the context of the type 2 diabetes, the involvement of obesity and the diet actions play a significant role in its management.

Additionally, different researchers (Richard et al., 2015) are implying on the chances of and various interventions that may render efficient development and help in putting the type 2 diabetic condition into remission. These practices may include; use of drugs that control the levels of blood glucose, following strict diet conditions, and personalization of the exercise practices and routines. With such methods over a period of times, that is, at least four months, the infected individuals were able to stop using their prescribed medications. However, lifestyle changes would be a significant solution to manage the type 2 diabetes. The changes revolve around exercising and strict diet practices (Richard et al., 2015).

Diet Practices- the different diet practices involved with managing the type 2 diabetes revolve around different tips. These tips would enhance the predicament behind maintain a healthy and proper level of blood glucose and the fats intake. First, it involves eating less sugar which helps in managing the condition by ensuring a relatively low amount of sugar consumption. It helps in decreasing the symptoms of diabetes. Secondly, limiting the carbohydrates and replacing them with food with high-protein helps in regulating the blood sugar. Also, one may increase the intake of fiber-rich diet. The fiber-rich foods assist in slowing the digestion of sugars and carbohydrates thus most of them would be digested. However, different studies imply that ensuring the intake of foods such as vegetables, fruits, low -fat products, proteins, and whole grains would help in getting all the nutrients the body needs to manage the diabetic conditions. These practices would also involve the consumption of foods with fewer calories and ensure the intake of polyunsaturated fats that include fish among others (Richard et al., 2015).

Exercises- with the proper diet, regular exercise would play a significant role in helping manage the type 2 diabetes. In most cases, weight loss in one of the vital steps that serve as a treatment for the type 2 diabetic condition. Different researched imply that the weight loss in conjunction with healthy diet would help tame the disease in productive ways that would deliver visible changes and developments. The exercises involve the practice of aerobics which may entail bicycle riding or swimming.

Surgery- Since weight loss and diet observation help in treating the type 2 diabetes, in other individuals, the practices would not feature significant development. Weight loss is a cornerstone for the cure of diabetes. Thus, it would be achieved through bariatric surgery (Philip et al., 2017). The surgery entails the reduction of the stomach size. In other aspects, it may involve altering the body hormones that contribute to gaining excess weight. The significant examples of the surgeries include the gastric band and the gastric bypass surgery.

The type 2 diabetes condition is a condition that is manageable. The individual may stay for a year without using any drugs, and the symptoms or signs of the diabetic state would not show. It does not mean the situation is cured but implies that the disease has faced management. The management of the case involves the placement of the occurrence into remission.

Conclusion

To sum everything up, one may wonder as to whether we can cure diabetes or not. Different sources deliver on their claims and objectivities concerning the implication and differ in one way or the other. However, there are several things that they agree about despite the differences in opinion concerning the curing of diabetes. They agree on the predicament that for practical changes, the infected individual needs to maintain a proper diet and exercise together with other lifestyle practices.

Whatsoever, the system aims at ensuring that they focus on lowering the level of glucose in the blood which involves the condition. As the levels of blood glucose lower in the human body, then it implies that the disease is facing control. Individuals might decide to use the word "cure" whenever the blood glucose level settles at a normal condition for at least five years which in other context imply that the condition is under "prolonged remission" instead. Hence, diabetes for sure can be managed.
