The clinical diagnosis of Caitlynn indicates that she is suffering from pneumonia. Further medical evaluation shows that Caitlynn is underweight compared to other healthy kids. Dr. Erica Copeland, who is attending to the child, suspects a case of cystic fibroids, and he requests a sweat chloride test, which turns out to be positive. Nebulizer and piperacillin treatments are suggested to Caitlynn. Also, Caitlynn is advised to be taking a diet that is high in proteins, and high fat-soluble vitamins K, D, A, and E together with pancreas enzymes. Caitlynn has to undergo physiotherapy to help break down the thick secretions.

This forced Caitlynn’s family to use telemedicine to ask any questions regarding Caitlynn’s condition due to being in a remote town.

Secondly, I Will Explain an Evidence-Based Care Plan to Improve the Safety and Outcomes of Caitlynn, a Patient at Villa Health

The article suggests that telehealth helps significantly improve patient outcomes and the outcomes of patient safety. Families and patients who live in remote areas face financial challenges that hinder them from traveling to get improved health care. The diagnosis of Caitlynn is new; hence her family, mainly her mother, needs frequent assurances and health. Telemedicine would, therefore, help Caitlynn’s family to obtain the necessary care. The most evidence-based proposed care plan and follow-up of Caitlynn’s care is telemedicine. Caitlynn’s family lives in a remote town with little support and care for cystic fibrosis, making the family depend on experienced experts from other larger healthcare facilities. Lastly, I will identify the benefits and strategies for mitigating challenges of interdisciplinary collaboration to plan care within the setting of a remote team

(2018), telemedicine has specific strategies for appropriate collaboration practice. These strategies include partnership, shared decision-making, cooperation, and coordination. Caitlynn’s family lives far away from the main hospital; hence Dr. Benjamin, who is her pediatrician in the remote town, has to collaboratively work with Dr. Copeland for a proper health care plan. This shows that interdisciplinary collaboration will ensure optimal positive health outcomes for the patient. Interdisciplinary collaboration in telemedicine will help prevent medication errors enhance patient experiences and provide better patient outcomes. This will reduce financial costs for Caitlynn’s family and help the large hospital save money by reducing operational inefficiencies and workflow redundancies.
