Adverse climatic changes in North Seattle has developed into an issue of great concern due to it being that it affected the wellbeing of living organisms in this locality. Increased temperatures at different times of the year, caused by the increased rate at which individuals cut down trees, made life quite unbearable for most residents of North Seattle who were forced to move from their areas of residents to other states due to unbearable temperatures at different times of the year. One way through which such changes in climate could be curtailed is if the government encouraged increased tree planting in the region and discouraged deforestation. This is because trees not only helped in cooling the surrounding but they also acted as water catchment areas. Furthermore, more trees would mean more fresh air or oxygen for the natives of North Seattle.

Abstract

This research would be about the factors that resulted to climatic changes in North Seattle including natural causes and the factors that were caused by human activities including increased solar radiation that had devastating effects on the lives of living organisms in the state of Seattle (John 102). The climate system in Seattle is a complex phenomenon that is characterized by a number of changes in its nature (Parry, Rosenzweig, Iglesias, Livermore and Fischer 54). This is evident from the actuality that the climatic conditions in this locality have always been in constant transformation due to the increased rate at which the natives of Seattle cut down trees without planting other trees as replacement. The adverse climate in North Seattle is due to variations in solar radiation, and the strong impact of human activities among several other factors that would be elaborated in the subsequent segments of the research paper.

Problem analysis

The issue of global warming and increased climatic changes in North Seattle are the most debated subjects of interest among most residents of this locality. While some people believed that climatic changes were caused by human activities and the increased emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, there were those who believed that the main causes of climatic changes in Seattle were naturally occurring events including increased solar radiation in different parts of North Seattle. Nonetheless, distinctive factors caused dissimilar changes in climate at different points in time (Parry, Rosenzweig, Iglesias, Livermore and Fischer 54). However, not all the factors that caused changes in climate in the past years could be applied to the factors that influenced climate change in the contemporary society. Factors that caused climate changes could be subdivided into two segments including the naturally occurring factors and the factors that were influenced by human forces or human activity (Burns, William, and Hari 4). In addition to the natural causes of climate change, it has been unraveled that occurrences such as variations in ocean currents also influenced climate even if that was on a short-term basis. Due to the adverse effects that climatic changes have had in Seattle thus affecting individuals well-being, it was important for the government to intervene by encouraging practices such as tree planting which would help in stabilizing the climate of North Seattle and several other regions in the United States.

Presentation and evaluation of a solution

One way through which Seattle natives could deal with adverse climatic conditions at different times of the year would be by planting more trees that would act as water catchment areas and help with air circulation in Seattle. Trees always use the excessive carbon dioxide in the atmosphere for making their food while exhaling oxygen that human beings breathe. With more trees, more regions in North Seattle would receive increased quantities of rain that could be used for agricultural purposes and human consumption. However, the aforementioned solution would come with its downsides including the fact that there would limited space for individuals to use in tree planting and it would require insurmountable amounts of cash for individuals to oversee tree-planting activities in North Seattle. In addition, not all persons would be willing to accept the idea of tree planting as part of their communities on the pretext that they had more important things to do than planting trees.

Additional information on climate changes in Seattle

Climate change could be defined as a lengthened alteration in weather conditions that would be identified through transformations in precipitation, temperature, wind currents among several other elements related to whether transformation (Parry, Rosenzweig, Iglesias, Livermore and Fischer 54). Climate change could involve changes in variability including extreme events and transformations in average conditions. Naturally, it could be proclaimed that Seattles climate varied at different times of the year based on a number of factors that influenced climate change such as transformations in solar radiation. Climate changes occur due to transformations in the amount of incoming and outgoing energy on earth (Levy, Barry, and Jonathan 124). As such, any factor that determined the amount of outgoing and incoming energy caused changes in climatic conditions within distinctive localities across the universe. Some of the factors that led to climate change were also referred to as climate forcers. This is because the elements pushed or forced the climate towards a long-term state by making individuals environment either warmer or cooler depending on the factor that was responsible for the climatic change as witnessed in climatic changes in Seattle.

The atmosphere in North Seattle and its climate system has always been characterized by chaotic dynamics and complexities (Frederiksen, Morten4aut and Tore4aut 34). The climate of North Seattle has always been influenced by a number of factors. Some of these factors include solar variations at different times of the year in the region. Other factors include some of the human activities that were undertaken in Seattle and their impacts, and varying strengths of cosmic rays that influenced changes in the cloudiness of the sky. The sun plays a major role as one of the factors that influence the changes in climate in North Seattle.

The adverse effects of global warming and climate changes, in North Seattle is a topic that is rarely debated (Owley 2). As such, it is important that people worked towards finding and explaining the causes, and effects of climate change in North Seattle. By learning more about the climate in this locality, people would be able to discover how to control adverse climatic conditions in Seattle and their consequences.

North Seattle natives had a common belief that the major causes of global warming and changes in the climate of the region was due to increased human activity and the increase in carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere (Parry, Rosenzweig, Iglesias, Livermore and Fischer 55). Carbon dioxide is categorized among the greenhouse gases that pose a threat to the wellbeing of individuals in the society in situations of higher concentration levels of the gas in the atmosphere (Parry, Rosenzweig, Iglesias, Livermore and Fischer 55). A different group in Seattle believed that the causes of change in the climate of the region depended on how physical, geodynamic and astronomical factors that influenced the climate of North Seattle and its environs.

The effect of greenhouse gas and how, it contributes to climatic change in North Seattle

As the rays of the sun reach the earths surface, it is either absorbed or reflected back into the atmosphere where it would be absorbed. Suns rays are always released back into the atmosphere as infrared radiation or heat. Some of the gases that are present in the atmosphere like carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and water vapor (H2O), aid in the process of energy absorption, and heat retention after it is released into the atmosphere (Parry, Rosenzweig, Iglesias, Livermore and Fischer 56). These gases slow down the rate at which heat is released into the atmosphere. In other words, the greenhouses gases found in the atmosphere in North Seattle for a blanket covering making North Seattle warmer than it should really be at different times of the year. Such changes in climate is what could be referred to as a greenhouse effect.

Carbon dioxide levels have varied for quite some time over the years in Seattle due to changes in the climate of the regions that were covered in glacier. During those periods when the temperatures at the glaciers were cool, the levels of carbon dioxide dropped down, but when the temperatures at the glacier-covered localities became warmer during different times of the year such as the interglacial periods, carbon dioxide levels rose to higher levels (Parry, Rosenzweig, Iglesias, Livermore and Fischer 56). It is important to note, An interglacial period is a geological interval of warmer global average temperature lasting thousands of years that separates consecutive glacial periods within an ice age (Parry, Rosenzweig, Iglesias, Livermore and Fischer 56). It is without any doubt that the cooling or warming processes of the surface of the earth and its oceans can ultimately cause changes in climate. Some of these natural occurrences are some of the events that led to transformations in the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere thus affecting the climate of the region.

Climatic conditions in different parts of Seattle is affected by diverse natural causes of climate change (Parry, Rosenzweig, Iglesias, Livermore and Fischer 57). Some of these factors may be external to the climate system and they may include solar output, volcanic activity, and the earths position around the sun. Amongst the natural causes of climate transformation, changes in solar radiation and changes in volcanic activities have been discovered as the major causes of climate transformation in most parts of Seattle. Changes in volcanic activities and solar radiation largely influenced the amount of incoming energy in different regions thus affecting climate change. Owing to the actuality that volcanic eruptions only surfaced periodically, such occurrences had a short-term effect on climate. For quite some time over the years, solar radiation has influenced climate change in different regions in Seattle. However, the greenhouse gases that were emitted into the atmosphere had a more adverse effect on the climate as opposed to the amount of heat that reached the earth from the sun.

Changes in climate in Seattle were brought forth by the activities that human beings were involved in within their societies including the burning of fossil fuels and individuals act of transforming different land pieces into parts they used for agriculture and forestry (Parry, Rosenzweig, Iglesias, Livermore and Fischer 57). Ever since the advent of industrial revolution period, the influence of human activities on climatic conditions has increased exponentially. Other than resulting to a change in climate, some of the activities that human beings engaged in at different points in their lives led to changes on the land surface. Human activities also caused the emission of a number of harmful elements into the atmosphere thus affecting the amount of incoming and outgoing energy in Seattle leading to a cooling and warming effect in this locality (Parry, Rosenzweig, Iglesias, Livermore and Fischer 57). Most of the activities that humanity engaged in led to a warming effect in the environment due to the emission of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases into the environment. Greenhouse effect was caused by the accumulation of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere for a p...
